Who needs a description with a shot like this!? Crisp, good angle, good crop, etc etc.

Oh, that's bold... I love the simplicity and solitude.

This was kind of an experiment for me as far as editing etc. goes. I'm still kind of torn on what to think of it. I'm glad you like it though

Thanks
This is in my mind one of my more experimental (yet traditional, not abstract) black and white landscapes, and I think it ended up turning out to be one of my better pictures from the trip.

It almost looks infrared.
If you put a red filter over your lens and shot this scene on B+W film,
it would start looking somewhat like this.

AcousticAlchemy In reply to StarTyger [2005-10-13 22:08:09 +0000 UTC]

I have used red filters with black and white, and I was actually trying to achieve that effect here, so I guess it worked out!

amazing picture, the contrast is perfect. the composition of the photo makes it all interesting, it looks like different kind of elements. i love the fact that the sky looks all dramatic with the clouds and so on, that's very cool. well, I could say a lot more about this photo, as I said I found it very interesting. but I'm tired and my english isnt that well (especially now when I'm tired, hehe). anyway, great work!

Thanks! I was definitely going for something dramatic here

this is wickedness! few blown clouds but a definate fav

AcousticAlchemy In reply to bang-motif [2005-10-10 23:05:18 +0000 UTC]

I tried not to get those clouds blown out but I just couldn't do it. The contrast was too much.
Glad you like it though!

yeah its hard (for me anyways) to correct bright whites like that to not be blown out while using a dslr.

I hate the narrow range that a DSLR can capture...

Oh
my
god

are you going to make a print of this? i really shouldn't be asking this.. cause i really shouldn't be spending my money like this....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AcousticAlchemy In reply to oceanday [2005-10-11 21:39:01 +0000 UTC]

I am thinking about doing prints, but I most likely will not do them out of DA when I do. If you really are interested in buying it, I might make a special exception

I'm glad you like it so much!

hey well,
perhaps, one of these days when I get around to scanning all my "better" photographs, if you're interested in any of those images, perhaps we could do a "high resolution trade" if you will

I'm telling you man, you need to move to Alamosa...or at least go to college at Adams State...because you really have a nack for capturing those dunes

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AcousticAlchemy In reply to heathen-rust [2005-10-09 03:18:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man...
I dunno about Alamosa. It's just like.... tiny and isolated. I'm not sure I could do that.

I could do Boulder or Gunnison or something though. I've actually been looking at UCO at Boulder as a college. I might visit it when I come to Boulder in March for a friend's birthday.
