On April 6, 2016, it was announced that Cinemax was developing a television series adaptation of the comic book. The Boys even received the nickname 'the series that nobody wanted'. The success the series achieved on Amazon Prime Video proves two things: there is still a lot of space for comic-based productions (when good), and producers need to review their concepts of what the audience likes and dislikes!
