Like the legendary Scotty said: "This is as good as I can make it" , same applies here. This is as good as I can make a 3D scene at the moment.3D max was not enough this time, I also had to use photoshop a bit. I also used a lot of video post again (great plugin for 3d max by default)
Rendering took 4h (on clocked Q6600)
Modeling/texturing took 3 days and 4 battery energy drinks.
What else: The ship was an older project for Star Trek Online MMORPG, it looked too nice to be left unfinished, so I modded the model a bit, to make it look like it's under construction.
The planet behind the spacedock and the ship is the same model I created before, but with new cloud textures and an a color tweak to green.
Spacedock was specially created for the scene this time.
Although, I know it isn't SUPER OMG!!! WTF picture, I'm still hoping to make it to the Daily Deviations with it.

The lack of comments on this are a crime against art. The overall design is spot on for TNG era Romulan designs, a fabulous piece.

Old yes, but also amazing. Klingons, Romulans, Cardasians, the Dominion... None of them ever receive much love in the way of this sort of fan design. This is just a damned awesome design, and an excelent execution.

I have like 2-3 cardasian designs half done... they may have been the bad guys (mislead guys)
but their design was unique

Nothing in life is perfect, so one shouldn't expect images to be.
Hence, I like the touch of the slightly wavy electrical(?) lines. It accents the realism nicely.

nice and interseting composition. i like. it looks like an addition of D'Deridex and and Kerchan. the nacelles, the neck and the upper forehead looks like D'Deridex and the lower part of the forehead looks like Kerchan. like to see more of that.

I created ch'Rihan as a future replacement for d'Deridex. It has the same armament as d'deridex, but has 2 more forward phasers in addition.
Old d'deridex lacked agility and was too big, ch'Rihan (means Romulus in there own language) is built to counter that disability.
When I finish rainbow 6 vegas 2, I will render more scenes with ch'Rihan in it, k? : )
