For it to be your first time using SAI, You're amazing at it! I started out really terribly with it until I started really using it.

Yay! I love it! I also love her. I love everything here!

The gentle curves and feeling of the picture that I like your work for are all very much present here. She looks so soft and warm. Makes one want to hug the stuffing out of her this very instant. Most of all, I like the eyes, you highlight them very well. I really like the eyelashes, too. The mouth completes the impressively adorable expression. The cheek(s) feel a bit chubby, on the extra side, as if on a filly, but it's an artistic style thing, so I'm not complaining. I like the soft highlights denoting the volume and the depth of our perception of her body. I love the hair with how it curves forwards from behind her head in several different places. This pose is great, too: it feels very open and sincere, which is very much Twilight Sparkle, and also very cute. The upraised front legs and the half-relaxed back legs and the wings at the top of their flapping sequence look good in that sense. Once more, the shading on the feathers and hooves shows their shape well. And the tail turned out nicely, too. A bit more contrasting than usual in terms of the coloured strips versus the base colour, but it's not important.
