I consider commenting to be the default behaviour. I find it extremely difficult to flag something as a favourite. "Do I really like this enough to consider it a favoutie?" is a really hard question to answer. I also make it a point never to flag something as a favourite if I can't think of a comment to write.

I also try to comment on things I favorite, I feel like it's an extra sign of respect for the artist who did so much work.
I love getting comments and reading them too.

Yeah, people just clicking "Add to Favourites" just results in messages saying "So-and-so added such-and-such to their favourites". Gee, that's nice.
I'd rather have my screw-ups pointed out so I can avoid them in the future, or if they're not good enough at analysis to point those out, then something like speculation on possible stories the scene could fit into or lines of dialogue which could follow. Something I can think about.
