Now far from the mass of energy, the league members present can only wait, with only two able to see into the firestorm of energy and hear Captain Atom as he tries to rally himself to absorb or limit the Boom Tube explosion.

As the energies draw into the focus point that is the quantum powered Captain, he realises he is finished. As he whispers a single barely audible word, the remaining energy detonates with considerable but barely a fraction of it's original force, causing minimal destruction. Of the Captain, there is barely a trace, only fragments of his dilustel shell.

The civil war is at an end though the cost has been a sowing of lingering mistrust and blame capped by the loss of one of their own.

On this picture i had no choice but to have everyone facing away from the viewer with only Superman and Wonderwoman partly visible for the scene i wanted, but it worked out fairly effective on the whole. The explosion looks a little odd but i wanted to give it a strange look, as though it is tearing reality.
