So sure was Dr Sivana of his restraints, he didn't even feel the need for trawling the Black Market for Kryptonite. He felt his gravity chamber would prevent even a Kryptonian from pulling with enough force to free themselves from the chains. And the eye coverings acquired from the Ultra Humanite should have prevented her from using her heat vision, its mirrored interior would reflect her laser beams back at her. Unfortunately both geniuses forgot that her eyes don't have to project light, and can just generate heat, heat hot enough to dissolve the metal restraint and enabling her to shut the gravity chamber controls down with a blast of heat vision.
Turning to see what the crashing noise was, Sivana's last words were "oops"

I was reading an old superman comic where Chronos tried to use Superman for some time experiment and fitted a bit of head gear that blocked his eyes, Superman promptly melted it. Applying that to how Powergirl was fitted with something similar by the Ultra Humanite ( though in that she used her Frost Breath to free herself ), my idea grew from there. So in case anyone is wondering she isn't crying grey tears, that's what is left of the eye covering
