Description
Investigating a mysterious signal in ancient Kryptonian being sent from Earth's moon, Superman arrives only to find Captain Atom has also investigated the signal on behalf of S.T.A.R.Labs. Neither is aware of the trap that has been set...

A homage of sorts to an old Captain Atom story, which involved Superman and Captain Atom being abducted for the purpose of being used as weapons, with both of them being regarded by the alien as the most powerful 'weapons' Earth had to offer. The story was also notable because Superman subtly helped Nathaniel find his estranged/missing daughter, who had found work at the Daily Planet.

Captain Atom and Superman had a fairly cordial regard for each other that seemed to deteriorate over time to the point that while Cap held Superman with considerable respect, Superman increasingly seemed to be portrayed as dismissive or even suspicious of the Captain ( i think some writers thought Captain Atom was a hawkish military type who would blindly side against his friends if ordered to, rather than a man who was often torn between his sense of duty and his conscience as he tried to balance it both ways, sometimes making a poor decision )

The creature behind them is my own idea for a version of Brainiac, i was never much of a fan of the green skinned alien, but the design would also fill in nicely for the Alien Kylstar who abducted them in the comic.
