Casual Deviation Day, Pt. IVElektra convention sketch, done.... last year? I have no idea. It's all a blur.
Convention sketch on Strathmore Sketch Paper, 11" X 14", penicl, Pitt Pen, and Copic Marker.

Curious: when you are sketching to you envision the figure first or the shape of the character?

I thought so. I constantly try to emulate that with my images but I guess I just need to work on my proportions and anatomy more.

Work on your anatomy & proportions; I only recommend 'drawing the shape' if you've got a fairly seasoned sense of those two aspects of figure-drawing.

I love the combination of grayscale tones for the flesh and color for the rest. I did something similar for a showgirl piece I did for a local exhibition. Gives a sort of weird-but-cool metallic-skin feeling to it!

i really wasn't a big fan of the movie. seeing the pink ranger star as the femme fatale assassin was unconvincing to me.
