Year: 2011Client: Vertigo/ DC Comics
Media: Media: Pencil, PITT Pen and COPIC marker on Strathmore Drawing paper, then colored with Adobe Photoshop CS2.
This is the wraparound cover to Bill Willingham's FAIREST, coming soon from Vertigo/DC Comics. It's the new new FABLES spinoff book, and I'm the regular cover artist. I've been a FABLES fan for a while now, and am really excited to be a contributor now!
This one was WORK, I mus say, and not for the reasons you might think... When I do regular covers for a book, it usually takes me 5-7 covers before I figure out how I like to portray the main character.
On THIS cover, I had to commit to how I would portray, what, 13 characters? 'Ugh!' and "Oh, no!'
I'm not going to name all the characters portrayed here, because sharp-eyed FABLES fans seem to be having too much fun trying to guess all of them!

Amazing piece! I was looking at this when my 5-year-old daughter came by the computer and wanted to take a peek. She immediately said, "That woman with the glass slippers looks just like Cinderella!" And then the guessing game began with each of the characters. Her favourite is Snow White, but she also loved Rapunzel. I can't get over how awesome the bedposts are!

not really spamming i like what my favoriet artist does and i take some of it and make it my own, i am open and honest about how i like to do alot of mark crilley stuff i havent really been drawing latly and i have to get back into the habbit of getting inspiration so i can make my own stuff. if you read the discriptions of my art it says how i take pieces of things mark crilley did on instructional vids. off of youtube. this is only my second day and i am trying to get things going. plus it was a mark crilley instructional vid. so i am also trying to evolve my art to get better so when i accually do create my own things it will be better than it is now, so plz show me some respect.

What I mean is there are more appropriate channels. It wasn't an instructional piece you commented on. It was an original piece of work that you made no comment about in your request for views.
