... And in the background, you can see people roasting while the firefighters are very focused on this young lady's fascinating conversation.
Seriously, does she never get chest colds????
(Sorry. I'll leave now)
Still beautifully drawn. My, your women are healthy!!

wow, just a (maybe stupid) question:
how much would you sell such a piece of art ?
(outsanding, by the way. totally worth the 3 days you spent on)
(and I know it may seems stupid, but for me one of the most impressive part is your render on the jeans °3°

Thank you very much for the kind words. And don't feel stupid about the jeans - I slaved over them! I did the same on a Mary Jane piece and a Silver Snail poster (see my gallery!)
A piece like this will sell for somewhere between $5000-$10,000, depending on a variety of factors (market, availability of similar pieces, etc).

Wonderful work, sir!
It's crazy how you handle markers and not look streaky. I still scratch my head with that medium:{
I love the expression on everyone. It feels like a Rockwell illo too
Applause!

Love the detail on the clothes, contrasts well with the more whispy style of her hair. Do you reference any faces when drawing her? I also love how happy she is that there is a disaster occurring. "Trouble you say?! Great! I can get my boobs out!"

Wow! Absolutely beautiful!
I love how it is reminiscent of a Superman costume change ... but OH my how it has a whole different feel with her costume & well assets!
I can't wait for the new Power Girl comic to come out. And I will make sure to get the variant cover!

Beautiful! I love the perspective of the piece and the details (like the cross-hatching on the pants!)
Amazing!

You're welcome!! I also love how realistic your figures are. Did you go to school for art at all? (I'm wondering because I'm currently an animation student but I love to do illustrations too)

No school for me (yet). I'm self-taught.

Wow! That's awesome that you're self taught!
When you color, do you just adjust the channels in photoshop to get the colors over the graytones? (Sorry I'm a novice at photoshop)

AdamHughes In reply to Kate9786 [2009-02-17 06:48:04 +0000 UTC]
No, I apply color to the gray tones by using either the Lasso Tool followed by Fill, or by using the Brush tool.
The trick is, set the mode of WHATEVER application tool you use to "Color", all the way at the bottom of the options (the top selection is always "Normal"). The bottom 4 options are Hue, Saturation, Color, and Luminosity. When you apply color using the Normal setting, you apply changes to pixels in all four aspects (Hue, Saturation, etc). When you set to only one of them, you do not affect the others.
Meaning, if you have a gray tonal drawing of, say, Superman, and you want to color his cape red, you pick a red you like, and set (for example) your brush to "Color". When you apply, you ONLY CHANGE THE COLOR of the pixels. Luminosity is not effected. So, your darks stay dark, it's just that they are now dark red.
BTW, "Color" changes Hue and Saturation simultaneously. If you want to affect one or the other, just select the appropriate Tool Mode.
Practice, play around with it. Remember, you must convert your scan from Grayscale Mode to CMYK or RGB mode first (if you scanned in Grayscale mode).

Awesome!!
Thank you so much for the tips! (I didn't know any of that about the color/luminosity! Definitely learned something new!!)
I'm going to try that tonight and see what I come up with!!
Thank you again!

Boobs. Always enjoy the amount of sex appeal you put into your illustrations. Nothing hard core pornographic about them, but there is always juuuuust the right amount playfulness in them. Can't wait for the All-Star Wonder Woman.
