The New Republic being overly pacifist in their actions would most likely just stick to all-purpouse fighters such as X-Wing and never use something as violent and aggressive as an A-Wing

According to Eckhartsladder YouTube channel, the a-wing would have served better with smaller wings to reduce target profile. That is here, however it lacks it's missile pods (and still lack directional thrusters for 360Β° movement but that's not of science is a factor). It is a brilliant adaptation but lacks it's originals strength. A Brilliant piece.

Thanks As for the shape, it's still quite small and with advancement in technology the need for more physical improvements such as the directional engine exhaust would be not as important. Mostly it was supposed to look like an actual improvement over the original ship design unlike the TLJ's version.
