Behold: A wheezingly ancient (well, circa 2002) sketch I did for DA’s own . Despite the age of the piece (and the fact that I’m no longer fond of my 2002-era facial stylings), I thought it might be apropos after seeing the preview for the BARONESS movie... Er, I mean the GI JOE movie, whateva. (Srsly, said preview seemed to feature the Baroness in every other shot.) Not that I give a crap about the GI JOE franchise overall, BTW... though I do appreciate the fine RESOLUTE designs that 's been posting.Scanned from a high-contrast photocopy, which doesn’t aid the repro quality very much... Oh, well.

Awww!!! How cute! I like it, I think it's really great! I even bet Destro would tack up one of these where she won't find it. We both know why, too! One look at this and she would blow her stack! It's just too cute! She puts up with the cheesecake poses and the poses with whips and riding crops because the Baroness likes being sexy and scary! But CUTE! She would put a dent in Destro's mask or a bullet in my back if she found this in either of our collections! I just gotta risk it, though! I love it! You may not like this style any more, but I do. I would love to see what Zarana would look like through your eyes.

I watched the GI Joe cartoon back in the day. The PSAs at the end furnished the best tag line ever: "...and knowing is half the battle." My favorite male characters were Destro and Sgt. Slaughter ("This is where your four leaf clover turns into poison ivy"), and my favorite female characters were Lady Jane and of course the Baroness, who often played kissy-face with Destro before stabbing him in the back. The chief reason to enjoy the GI Joe movie is, of couse, Siena Miller as the Baroness. Tall, long hair, brunette, leather and thigh-high boots, glasses, Slavic accent--she'd tear out your heart and stomp that sucker flat, and you'd still love her! Adam, don't get so down on your early work, because I have much love for stuff like this.

The quality here is remarkable and the work of Baroness for the upcoming GI Joe movies just never seems to tire.

Lovely work regardless. I am dying to see how the GIJ movie turns out. I am too skeptical with the way Hollywood handles some cartoon/comic-to-live franchises. BTW, The Baroness is one of the strong selling points GIJ has ever had. Makes me want to be a bad guy just to be under her command.

Hmm... Glasses seem so imprudent on a battlefield. Not the point, I know, but loosely worn glasses alongside such contoured armor is a funny dichotomy.
