There's a veritable blizzard blowing outside my window right now, and I thought "why not submit this in the spirit of really cold stuff?"This is a marker commission done with Copic gray markers, white paint-pen, and a blue brush-tip Prisma pen.
Easily my favorite X-Man, far and away, I've been a big Iceman fan since I was a little kid. I might even go so far as to say he's my favorite Marvel guy overall, but that one's a little more contentious.
And yet I've never done a SERIOUS Iceman piece. Not since I was in grade school, anyway. So for this one (and because the client is a friend and a great guy) I went a few extra miles. I feel pretty good about how it turned out - an experiment that paid off.
...Not sure how I made it through this whole description without a single Ice pun. Guess I'm just too cool for that. D'OH!

I dig the oversized buckle (now you're sure he's got on clothes and not just anthromorphic!) and the ribbing on his arms is a cool effect.

Excellent Job. Looks simply amazing. Sorry to say that Iceman's never really been high on my list of Marvel characters or X Men. He's not a bad character, but there are people I like better.

Every so often he becomes an A character, but he doesn't tend to stay at the top of the heap. Which is fine by me because it means they mess with him less often than the big guys.

Man, you should see my parents' place at Christmas. It's INSANE. It's like Christmas threw up in their house. Seriously, when the snow is coming down like it is and we visit over there it's like walking into a painting of classic Americana.

It also helps that we don't have to drive anywhere except for groceries every so often! Not having to get up in the morning and brush off the car (and scrape ice off the windows) makes it a lot easier to sit back and enjoy the "wonderland."

I had a breakthrough with Iceman and his ice-slide when I was doing the Ultimate X-Men pages I posted here a few years ago. The trick is to think of it like he's surfing on a wave he makes himself. Once you picture him as a surfer, it's much easier to capture the motion and sense of movement for him.

I had to warm up to him (har, har). Seriously, though, him and Sam in Supernovas and Blinded by Light were just plain awesome. That and Wolverine and the X-Men won me ^^

Nice! Yeah, Iceman's one of my favorites as well. Probably my second-favorite X-Man I would say. I would also say he is MUCH better fit for Rogue then Gambit.

Ah! Nice choice. He's got one of the best visual styles of all Marvel characters. Shame they offed him recently, but he'll be back. Nobody stays dead - especially a character who's such a fan-favorite.
