Description
A few concept sketches for a city in the Forest of Illusions. Castles and towers shaped from trees and shadows, and hidden from the outside world.

WOW. just a concept sketch?! It's so detailed already! These are very cool. I think the forest/city should be excatly what the Elves in the Inheritance series (the Eragon books) from the city of Ellesmera should live in. Can someone take me theeere??

Haven't checked deviantart in a while, and now I feel spoiled to see all of your updates. It was a blast seeing you at Kumoricon-- I've got a spot dedicated on my wall to all of the mini prints I bought <3
Do not feel so harsh about your landscapes. I'd love to see them in a larger scale, so I could get sucked into them like it was right in front of me. They've got good lighting and composition. Small ideas: On the top left one, perhaps move the foreground a bit to the right (not literally pick up the entire thing and move it-- then the pathway down would be wrong. Aka-- mess with foreground). Maybe play up the dark shadows in contrast a even a bit more on the upper two.
When they're ready, color would make them even more vivid and vibrant. Please take what I say to heart, I'm not just saying it for funsies but because I believe it to be true.

Well even if the scenes looked better in your head at least you were able to get it down on paper so you could improve it, so I'd say this is a good first step and besides even though it's rough it still looks spectacular!

Yes, getting pictures from my brain to paper are usually disappointing to me. However you did a great job and I would love to go explore that city. It looks fascinating and like it would hold a wealth of secret knowledge and perhaps secrets in general. :}
