What a gorgeous illustration. I love the detail, and the shading is definitely impressive. Her fingers looks like roots, so if you did not have a comment I could tell she was a forest being of some sort. Very well done, comrade.

It all starts in my head, yes--I have to see it before I can bring it to paper. I use references only if I have trouble with a particular angle or pose, then I'll use myself in the mirror.
