The Eleventh Doctor and Rose Tyler, in shared wonder and disbelief at seeing each other again. Rose slowly realizes that this strange man is still her Doctor, though his face has changed yet again and he is so much older and sadder, lonelier. It has been centuries for him, and he was so certain that he would never see her again. There is both pain and fondness in his eyes as touches her, as though touching a cherished memory.

It's not a "pairing;" this is just how I imagine his reaction, should he ever see her again. No further romantic interest implied; he married River and she undoubtedly married TenToo, so it is just "touching a memory," for both of them.

so he picked it,

that a rose could never last forever,
so he left it on the beach
with tears on his eyes.
I love this picture so much,it brings joy and sadness back to my heart.
I feel sad that they can't be together anymore by the fact she's forever gone
but I know one thing..
Rose may die in reality
but Rose lives in his two lonely hearts.
