Description
Just an interpretation for the alignment chart meme, as pertaining to the Showa series of Godzilla movies. The quotes are all of my own invention, based on what I think they might say about their situation and worldview. I took some time in thinking about where to place them - some took more time than others. Enjoy!Related content

To be honest, we never really could understand why any of the monsters do any of what they do.

Part of what makes them so terrifying--it's not just that a 500-foot behemoth is snacking on the Sears Tower, it's that there might, JUST MIGHT, be some sort of reasoning behind it in said behemoth's head; that it's NOT just going on instinct.
The thought of creatures this HUGE, and this DESTRUCTIVE having some level of intelligence? That's pretty damn scary, even in a cheesy action/monster flick.

Mothra, Angirus, and Hedorah's quotes are the best.

The original Mothra was less of an Earth-goddess, and more of a cult figure - a benevolent one, but still something fairly mysterious and almost alien. I got the impression that her priestesses were pretty much her only "berserk button", so to speak, but they were a doozy.
Yeah, Anguirus is one of the more "classical" kaiju who acts more like a huge animal defending its territory than anything else - he just can't relate to people at all.
Hedorah used to creep me the heck out; his dark, lilting theme and the fact that his personality appears to be that of an utterly amoral hedonist cemented his presence in my mind...

I actually see Rodan being more True Neutral than Anguirus, seeing as Anguirus tends to look up to Godzilla moreso than Rodan does.

I thought of that, but I eventually decided that Rodan was more "Chaotic neutral" since technically, unlike Godzilla and Rodan, Anguirus never attacked a city for no reason in the original series. He followed Godzilla to Osaka in his first appearance, retreated as soon as it became clear the military was scrambled and prepared to fight in "Godzilla vs. Gigan", and attacked Mechagodzilla in a rural area. Meanwhile, Rodan caused destruction from the get-go in his first appearance.
