Description
I can't even remember when I started this. It was a long time ago, at least three years. Originally I wanted to include it with the Best of SenshiStock book but I never developed it as much as I wanted to for the book. Instead of keeping it unfinished forever on my harddrive where no one would see it, I finally just decided to upload it here. It's really incomplete but I hope the basic stuff I talk about will be helpful. The initial pose used is
Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards can be found at DrawRight.com . (It's a great book, really amazing.)
I really hope that some of you get a lot of use from this!
You can use other techniques in combination with this one (like using balls and boxes for different parts of the body). Use all the tools available to you to make the best art you can make!

Glad to hear it! I highly recommend Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards, it's a really excellent book. These techniques can be applied to smaller parts of the body, like limbs, hands, and feet, too.

Just want to thank you for the tutorial. Due to being sad (not really depression), work and school, I havent drawn in a while and I was upset when I couldnt draw that well but this has helped me a lot and now my poses are looking more "lively" and just better in general. So thank you. c:

this is great i used to get the images gesture and line placements right. then i went to pyjama-cake here pyjama-cake.deviantart.com/artβ¦ to roughly shape out the bust and hips i went to rika-dono here eowynceleste.deviantart.com/arβ¦ of roughly sketching out the body around the lines and what not. i had the worst anatomy in the past andΒ my art was so stiff it was ridiculous. now with everyoneβs help though the anatomy needs work i can tell i found a way to draw art thatβs more 'realistic' thank you so much.
