The heads are sketches of what his X style helmet would look like, the final design looks WAY better than the rest.

Badass, however, you shouldn't be afraid to draw hands and feet. There are many good tutorials on the net on how to do this .
This is a strong design, but I'd say just take in back into PS and add his hands and leg peices and it'll be stronger.

It comes with time, and constant brainstorming. Though I will say, you definately have potential for something other than fan-art. 
Back to your other comment ("tell me your secrets?"), I guess there is no one secret. Lots of schooling and hard work, tons of art and writing books, etc. Tons of drawing, and thumbnailing etc.
Knowledge is power in this business.

It's not that I'm not brainstorming, it's just that I never actually got around to it lol.
I can do it all by myself, I just lack the time for anything (College is kicking my ass XD)

I also have an MMX OC named Eclipse (strange coincidence, happens all the time) but I like your design, it reminds me of Prometheus in MMZX fused with Skullman

Yeah, Eclipse has been around with me for over 7 years now. Who knew he'd be so well liked. I honestly thought of something close to a Axl Zero Mix kind of thing, but Prometheus seems good =]

I'd be curious to see how he evolved through all those years! In my case I think the character's at least 6 years old but he hasn't evolved nearly as much as my other ones

Good job! I think his design is really good and having him more in line with the X series was a good choice in my opinion. Always liked that style.

oh no thats not what I meant I meant that it was a good choice to go with that style instead of another one. I was always a fan of the X style and not the others like EXE or the Zero series.

Ugh, never liked Battle Network. Legends was a good game but look wise...meh. ZX might have been a good choice as well but still glad you went with the X look. Gives Eclipse a much more dynamic feel in my opinion.
