Description Last December, I tortured the * Ultra-Fractal members with a Christmas sphere contest. They did a great job with the theme, but I never got around to making one myself until today. Didn't plan on posting this, but the more I looked at it, the more I started liking it. Having drank a glass of chocolate milk might of influenced that also.

Ultra Fractal. Hope you like it.

Yeah, me too. I drink tea almost every day. I grew up drinking iced tea, so it's just habit to grab a tall glass of it.

THAT'S really fantastic....It looks painted...In fact this is one of those pieces that if you envisioned it as a painting ... say 30 years ago... with no computer art around .... youd be famous by now and in famous musems with it ...*sigh*...

Thanks, Jim. I sigh with you. Maybe one day a major gallery will be brave enough to post a digital piece.

This one looks really nice, you got the colors nailed perfectly! It's really smooth and liquid, indeed just like coffee. Very tasty-looking indeed!

Thanks. I'm still not up to speed on the mapping thing, but it was fun to work with. It kills me when I see spheres like yours, Rykk's, and Deagol's.

I love Chocolate in all shapes and forms, at all times. At times my family accuses me of having a diet of popcorn, tortillas, Diet Coke, and Chocolate.

I really like the colors of this one, the different shades are really appealing (at least to a chocolate lover like myself), however, the spheres seem to disrupt the overall pattern. I think that it might have been better if they were a little more subtle.

good work though....

*runs to get more Chocolatec*

Aeires In reply to heraldoftruth [2005-04-01 04:12:16 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like my diet, minus the diet coke and replaced with regular coke. Love chocolate the most.

Yeah, it was too plain without the spheres, but I might go back and tweak it out if I get a chance. As much as I love the formula, it's kinda hard to work with because there's only so much you can do with swirls.

Mmmm, Easter chocolate on sale real cheap.

I think that one of the best things to do is to go to a chocolate store right after Valentines or Easter, when all the chocolate is still fresh, but on sale....

After a lot of quizbowl tournaments, I go with the rest of the team to the Rustle Stover (sp?) outlet and just have fun shopping around.

What is the best chocolate that you have found?
I found this really good Connecticut store called Bridgewater, that makes the best chocolate....

Good question. Not really sure because I like it so much. I need to go to a really good chocolateir shop and get the really high grade chocolate. I was in one the last time I visited New York city and about fainted at the prices. Fannie May is a Chicago company, so we see that everywhere in the local area. They have some great chocolates also.

heraldoftruth In reply to Aeires [2005-04-03 01:16:42 +0000 UTC]

well you should at least look at the Bridgwater catalog, though I warn you, it is tempting to buy the entire inventory. [link] take a look at it and maybe treat yourself to a box or two, I suggest the toffee and the truffles, they make great presents! ( I warn you, this is one of the few websites that can literally make me salivate!)

I agree, the prices for really good chocolate are truly staggering, it is criminal! I am not sure that any chocolate is worth $100 a pound, but as the quality goes up the prices tend to follow quite rapidly, and for those of us with limited budges.... it makes things difficult. As for cheap chocolate that is still good, I find that often places like Sam’s and Costco have good chocolates that are pretty cheap, my sister bought me a 2lb box of truffles from Costco for my birthday, and apparently it wasn't very expensive at all (I suspect that is was somewhere around $30).

Chocolate lovers of the world unite!

Bookmarked that, against better judgement.

I love mints the most, so I might order a box of their 24 piece set. Truffles are awesome also. Do they have discounts if you purchase a certain amount? $28 for a box of 24. I don't mind that, but I know I'll probably eat at least 5 at a time.

heraldoftruth In reply to Aeires [2005-04-04 00:57:16 +0000 UTC]

I don't know about discounts (will have to go and find out....), but compared to some other types of chocolate, (Godiva for instance) $30 a pound is pretty reasonable (wow, perspective sure does make a difference! ). I tend to prefer the assorted chocolate boxes, because I like almost everything that they make! I also hear that if you are ever in the area, that you should check them out, because the give, or at least used to give away samples, which are ALWAYS nice . As for eating them in a short time, well.... I have been known to do something like that once or twice

Very curvy and smooth. I suddenly have the urge to run and drink chocolate milk.

You would be great in advertising. I bet you could sell anything. I want to endorse milk by the gallon now, and I've only stared at the image for a grand total of about 12 seconds. Imagine if you made commercials. Man, you would move products like nothing if this had the same effect on other people.

All kidding aside, I think it's great. Really fun image. Everything in it works out great.

Thanks. I'd love to do album covers, but don't know how to get into the market.

Been wanting to do an image using spheres and that formula for a bit, so it was good to complete it. Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks. I love the swirls that this formula contains, but they don't mix well with other images, or at least not ones I've found. Only the second time I've used them, so maybe after more discovery of other formulas I might try them again.
