I was planning on getting some architectural shots today but it was majorly overcast so halfway to Chicago I decided to swing by the zoo instead. The butterfly area at the Brookfield Zoo was full of these beauties. I'll go through the rest of my shots and see if there are any more good enough to post.Related content

Wow! Butterflies are such exquisite creatures, and so fragile, I suppose it reminds us how beautiful and cruel nature is... Great shot, the colours are absolutely beautiful

yes, I know the feeling, I once chased a blue morpho all around the detroit zoo, and finally, right before I had to leave, I got a nice shot of him. I know the feeling well

I was surprised at how much the purple shifted. The blue tail was what drew me to this guy though.

Beautiful butterfly, nice shot! i think it would have been better to have something lighter in the background (like orange or yellow ... a flower maybe ... ) for the contrast. But this goes as well and the shot is great.
