As the class once again gathered in the whispering caves for the final time. Que felt some apprehension before the announcement of the classes agenda for the day. Given the events of the last time they had gathered there, it was understandable to be a little anxious. After reciaving the news that this was when they’d finally be filling in the starlight pools for the new kits, many folk expressed excitement. Knowing that’d they’d pass the class after this session, and be officially certified in water. Many folk were also excited that this would help folk settle into the grove. Que was also excited for this.

Their newly adopted kit, Bog, was getting more and more restless as they needed to swim in a pool. They were themself was also frequently experiencing discomfort in their gills recently. So a swim in a nice pool would be wonderful. Seems some folk felt the same as there were several kits that strayed closer to the class occasionally, seemingly in anticipation of a good swim. It seemed that a few pools were still being cleared just a few minuets before as a large Passel of folk were sitting on blankets nearby. They seemed to be having a picknik after an exhausting time clearing the pools, as several folk had passed out after finishing a small meal. They noticed a particularly enraptured traveler kit that was looking extremely interested in the class. Their one eye had an instense gaze, focused directly and seriously on the folk. Que gave a little wave and turned around quickly as it was a little burdensome.

It was soon announced that they’d be filling up the pools together. Though not in any official or assigned groups, they would definitely need multiple folk to fill them all the way. Que nervously looked around, and saw that Sanson was standing at the side of an empty hole, perhaps waiting for other folk to approach them. Que remembered the folk from the last time they were in the caves. They approached him calmly, hoping to keep from startling them after what happed last time. (Flashback to Zel’s frozen shut mouth, trying to scream obscenities at him.) With a small little giggle, they greeted the folk, offering to help fill this pool. A couple other folk joined them, offering the same.

The four folk stood around the pool, each just starting to conjure the spell. They all first used the focai that was provided, to become familiar with the spell. After successfully casting it once with the focai, Bell then moved onto casting without it. Their casting was powerful and swift, with a concentrated splash of water starting to fill the bottom of the pool. Nikki spent more time with the foci, but soon moved on without it. Her casting was slower, but consistent. Continuing to fill the pool, while Bell needed a quick break as they had gone too fast too soon, forgetting to pace themself. Que also moved on to cast without the focai. Having a much slower pace, yet a large quantity of water pulled from the air.

The three folk had gotten the pool up to halfway, when Sanson joined them. He was having a tougher time, as his blight combined with the water was making his paws shiver and shake. But he was persistent and determined. Using the focai when he needed to, but trying to not depend on it. While the three other folk ended up needing a break at the walkway point, even while pacing themselves well. He took over filling it up. He slowly but surely filled it almost to the top. At which point, all four finished it up. A feeling of camaraderie filled the space.

Most of the other groups had finished as well. There were a few happy little shouts from the onlookers, and some wayward kits ran up and jumped into the freshly filled pools. Angus broke away from the folk he was scalding to go and yell at the rambunctious kits. Screaming something about the unruly youth. While not as harsh, Suijin also firmly demanded that they leave it immediately. Commenting on ph, minerals, and algae needing to be optimal. Que bent over and scooped out two kits, one under each arm. Getting bit, they passed one over tot he other arm, and scooped up yet another. Having three rowdy kits biting them all over, Sanson looked berry worried for them. But Que reassured them they were fine. They had helped Susan with the paperwork amidst a sea of kit teeth. Three little wiggly kits was nothing to them now.

They looked over to angus, who didn’t have a negative reaction. Neither yelling or screaming, just a small “hmm”, a huff, and a “finally! A folk with a few brain cells and resilience.” Que looked at him with a burdensome gaze. Smiling goofily, as the Grove’s best magic teacher gave the closest thing to praise he ever could. “Grrrr, what ya stare’n at?! Ye fish for brains?!!” The badger swiftly turned around and shouted at the blue folk. At which, Que simply giggled goofily with a smile. While Suijin and the rest looked on completely baffled at Que.
