beautiful. It's a photo right? Before deviantart I had no appreciation for that type of art. But it's beautiful

Interesting composition, it makes the branches looking almost abstract, and the model break this sensation, but gives the idea do be "suspended" in some odd place! Very interesting work!

I`ll come back now I`ve gone through the many devs to look at
Personally I love the tree`s texture the most love the reaching for the sky - very surreal twist having her in the picture, not immediately obvious. I like it anyway
Improvement? - would rather see a child there as a twist on gnarly lifeless trees the promise of new life.

Very nice shot. Good depth of field, especially. The angle of the capture adds greatly to the picture here - the lack of a horizontal to refer to puts the whole thing into limbo. (Or is that limb-o? *grin*)
Congrats!

very original image, the format is absolutely great, the contrast and the high key very powerful.

the way that you create such high contrast while maintaining your mid tones and detail is down right impressive, how do you do it?

aeravi In reply to from-time-to-time [2007-02-08 10:26:29 +0000 UTC]
i started with the raw image. i bring up the brightness all the way, the contrast part of the way, and the exposure just a touch to even it out. mostly, i do that stuff by messing around until i'm happy. i usually bring down the blacks enough to lighten the shadows, but not enough to lose the richness of the color range.
after that, i used channel mixer. mess with that until i'm pleased. it's an incredibly useful tool.
[link] this is a tutorial i got the process from. i've saved the whole thing onto an action and can now access it by hitting f4 before tweeking with it. it's awesome. good luck with that.

I think it would be prettier without the girl. the trees alone are magnificent. She detracts attention from them.

i do like the trees. but she is what makes it one in a million for me... i'm a little obsessed with people.
i might go back and get more pics of the tree at some later point. it is a magnificent tree. i've spent many-a-night staring up at its bare or leaf-waving branches, enchanted... nature makes beautiful things.

I think maybe. . . . I just didn't think she was as striking as the trees. Maybe someone who is more dramatically beautiful, not just pretty. But still, it's good.
