Description

not born yet!

Character
Name: Duck-kit | Duckpaw | Duckfoot
[Duck] - {will ask josie for any particular reason} his eye color reminded Tansyfoot of mallard ducks
[kit] - traditional suffix for kit ranked cats
Clan: RiverClan
Age: Not born / 0 moons
Rank: Kit
Gender: Male
Appearance details: Duck-kit is a cream tabby whose fur appears slightly more ginger in the sunlight. He has cream-white socks on each of his feet, those the white goes up a bit higher on his hind legs. His fur is mostly short, only really long on his chest and, oddly enough, his tail tip, giving his tail a strange, feathery appearance. His tail tip is also white, and he has a blaze of white on his chest as well as white eyebrow markings. His eyes are a brilliant green with a slightly blueish tint, similar in color to the feathers of a mallard duck. The tom always seems to look confused for no explicable reason.

History
kithood | 0-... ☾
Duck-kit was one of the first kits born in the new territory, after Pondwater and Carpsplash's litter. He was born to Tansyfoot, though he doesn't know who his father is. He isn't sure if Tansyfoot knows either, because she doesn't seem to. He's curious if his father is out here somewhere, but he doesn't worry too much about it. Along with Tansyfoot, he has Quailkit, and he loves her dearly--especially when Tansyfoot seems to disappear and he's left alone only with her.

About

Personality:

compassionate :: If there's one thing Duck-kit can do well, it's care about others. Though he isn't the world's biggest worrywart, he will happily listen to anyone's complaints and let them talk his ear off. He likes helping others as well, though he doesn't always know how to go about it.
modest :: Duck-kit doesn't really understand the point of bragging, feeling like it will inevitably lead to embarrassment and potentially disappointment. He accepts praise, but does so modestly, keeping himself from getting a big head.
calm :: Rarely one to get upset, Duck-kit is very calm and easy-going. It would take an exceptionally terrible action to make him angry, and even worse to make him angry enough to do something about it. Mostly, he is happy to go with the flow.

carefree :: Duck-kit is able to avoid worrying, getting upset, and dealing with particularly sad events thanks to his carefree nature--but it means that when some things should be taken seriously, he can still be rather cavalier about them. On the plus side, nothing negative sticks to him--it just rolls off him like water off a duck.
lax :: Slow moving and not particularly motivated, Duck-kit's lax nature can mean getting him to do what needs to be done can be challenging. However, because he isn't too excitable, he can be managed, and usually has the sense to step up when he needs to.
uninhibited :: Duck-kit doesn't exactly have much of a filter, often saying what comes to his mind when it comes to his mind without thinking about whether he should or shouldn't say so. Oftentimes, Duck-kit can digress and ramble on and on and on about whatever topic he has managed to deviate to, not stopping even when his tongue gets a bit twisted. It means that he is honest, though, which at least makes life easier for his mother and his mentor.

forgetful :: Not the worst trait in the world, but certainly an inconvenience. Duck-kit is bad with remembering most things, because his brain is like a cup, and if you fill it too much, something in bound to spill out. He will usually forget names, tasks, and how to do tasks unless he is reminded, sometimes frequently.
slow :: Definitely not the brightest of the litter, Duck-kit often struggles with understanding. For now, it isn't a huge issue, but once he comes an apprentice, he will need a patient mentor willing to move at his pace. He often needs things explained multiple times.
gullible :: Because he isn't smart, and is rather trusting, Duck-kit is also very gullible, and will believe most anyone--especially if they're an older warrior or someone he looks up to.
cowardly :: Not exactly brave in the face of adversity, Duck-kit prefers other methods aside from fighting to deal with problems. This is less out of desire for peace and more out of fear of injury. Even if he's somewhat excited, he also dreads the day he has to train to become a warrior. He does not like pain or scary things.

Likes: the sound of the river, chasing older cat's tails, watching caterpillars, eating bugs
Dislikes: when his mom is gone, stormy weather, cold, the smell of fish that's been sitting too long

Tansyfoot  | puffmais  | mother
"I love my mom! She brings me food and grooms me and she's pretty and she's nice! But... I wish she was around more... She leaves sometimes for a while and I miss her a lot... The other moms around around more often and sometimes she stays gone for a really long time... but, I'm still happy when she comes back!"

Quailkit | StruggleMatch | sister
"Quailkit is the best sister ever! She's nice to me, she's always happy, and she talks extra slow for me when I don't get it. I hope she never leaves me."
Roleplay
Even though Wildfire had traveled with Beetlestar and Blueflower to the Mooncave as their escort, he hadn’t expected the amount of trust Beetlestar was placing on him by naming him deputy, just as stunned as most of the cats around him in the camp. Not only was he young--although at least older than the leader--but it was impossible to pretend his disability didn’t exist, and even if he felt he was a competent warrior, and didn’t know if the other clans would see it that way, or even if his own clan would. He had touched his nose to Beetlestar’s and promised not to let him down, but that didn’t make it any easier to be sure of himself. He only knew that he would do his best.
Some cats offered congratulations, and some felt forced; he couldn’t blame his clanmates for being confused or unreceptive of the change, with such a younger leader, medicine cat, and now deputy--they had probably hoped a senior warrior would take his position. Wildfire himself had as well--and as he turned away from the cats and towards his mentor, he couldn’t help thinking that Crowtint would have done better in his place.
But a good deputy didn’t let self confidence shake them! He had to present himself as if he wasn’t worried, as if he was sure he would do a great job, and he tried to hold his head a little higher to make up for the sudden lack of confidence as he moved closer to his mentor. “Hey--” he greeted, feeling like maybe that wasn’t formal enough but he didn’t know how else to speak to him.
