Description An Strv-42(T), ᛏ25, of the 4th Heavy Tank Battalion, Ostmark 1941.

------------------------------

Re-designed my Strv-42(T), mostly changed the turret shape to be similar to other Vloskovian tanks and the rear hull, and changed the driver's window to the correct side.

------------------------------

The Strv-42(T) was a Vloskovian heavy tank designed after the 1940 Invasion of Vloskovia by German forces. When the Vloskovian military started to expand and modernise the ground forces to cope with the invasion, it was decided that a heavy tank was needed to counter German anti-tank weapons. What resulted was a tank radically different from any Vloskovian design before: a 55-tonne tank with 100mm of frontal hull armour, armed with a re-purposed 100mm anti-aircraft gun. This new tank was designated Strv-42(T) [Stridsvagn, 1942 (Tung) - Tank, 1942 (Heavy)]. Despite this name, it was first deployed in 1941, a year ahead of its planned entry into service. The tank's heavy armour was almost impenetrable to the German AT guns in use at the time, and the early Panzers were no match for the PVK-100 main gun. This tank, along with the KV-1 and T-34, lead to the development of the Tiger by Germany.

After the Battle of Vloskovia, Strv-42(T)s saw action in Norway, Denmark, and Germany itself, in a campaign lasting from 1944 until 1945. In 1944, a new variant was built, the Strv-42(T) Utf. B, also known as Strv-42TB or Strv-44. This variant had a more powerful engine, along with a completely different suspension based on the fast medium tank Strv-42(M). Most Strv-44s were new-builds, but some Strv-42TA's were converted.
Other variants produced include the JKV-43 [Jaktkanonvagn, 1943 - Assault Gun/Tank Destroyer, 1943], a heavy assault tank armed with a 152mm main gun and very thick armour, and the postwar AKB-48 [Artilleri Kanon Bärare, 1948 - Artillery Gun Carrier, 1948], a self-propelled artillery vehicle armed with a 203mm howitzer, and equipped with an autoloader mechanism.

Nice tank. And I thought this took place in another world, like Vloskovia.

Thanks!
It's more like an alternate version of the real world. There are some fictional countries added in, like Vloskovia (which is located in the Norwegian Sea between Norway and Iceland) and Lukanya (located in the Pacific Ocean). There are some historical changes like Germany having aircraft carriers and larger forces in northern Europe. Another difference is Lukanya trying to conquer Asia in the 1930s and 40s. They basically replace Japan in WWII (Lukanya attacks Pearl Harbour, Midway, etc), and Japan fights with the US against Lukanya instead.

Can't wait to hear more of that story.

And you're welcome.
