Description
Digital version of the Lukanyan Type 44A heavy tank. Depicted is unit RO 502, Vladivostok 1945.The Type 44 was a heavy tank designed in Lukanya in 1943-44. Based on German developments, it resembled the Tiger II, designed roughly at the same time, although it was slightly longer and not as tall. It was armed with a 90mm main gun comparable to the German 88mm KwK 36. The hull had 120mm of frontal armour sloped at 45 degrees, while the turret front was 160mm thick with a large mantlet, making it a very tough tank. A 680hp engine enabled it to reach a top speed of 40 km/h. It had a crew of 5: the driver sat on the left of the hull, the radio operator / machine gunner on the right. In the turret, the gunner sat on the left of the gun while the loader sat on the right. The commander sat behind the gunner.
In combat, the high-velocity gun made it good at long-range engagements. The Type 44 first saw action in Khabarovsk Krai, USSR, in mid-1944. It also fought in Hokkaido and northern Honshu, Japan in 1945, Manchuria from 1944-47, and also in Lukanya itself from the start of the Allied landings during Operation Coronet in 1946 until the Lukanyan surrender in August 1947.
In 1945, a new version was produced, known as the Type 44 Otsu (Type 44B). This variant had a new 90mm L/70 main gun, more powerful than the Type 44A's L/50. It also had additional spaced armour to protect against shaped charge weaponry. The Type 44 Otsu also had a redesigned turret which corrected issues with the original design. The new turret was taller, allowing better gun depression and also removed the shot trap below the original turret. Due to the added weight of the new turret and extra armour, the Otsu was slower as it used the same engine.
In 1946, a tank destroyer was built using the Type 44's chassis. Designated the Type 46, it looked similar to the German Jagdtiger and was armed with a 140mm naval gun. Due to the lack of quality parts, the Type 46 was prone to breaking down. Most were knocked out by mechanical problems or fuel starvation rather than enemy fire.
A total of 1465 of all variants were produced from 1944 to 1947. Most of the surviving vehicles were scrapped after the war, but about 10 survive today in museums.

Not joking, you should make a sprite pack or something and animate it.
