Author Commentary:
- Bet you guys didn't see this coming. Lance never touched my pokemon. I didn't lose a single health point this whole battle.
So let's go into strategy. I knew while training that I couldn't heal which meant that I needed to do two very important things to get to Gary (because I am in it to win it)
1) End battles as quickly as possible to minimize damage taken and 2) make sure at least 4 of my 6 pokemon can take on any given Elite Four member (don't put all your eggs in one basket)
SO I taught Poseidon Ice Beam in case Gilbert got hurt and I taught Arnold Dragon Claw so he could at least take out the Dragonaire and Boomy for the Gyarados and Aerodactyl.
- Leaf is a very mature person. She's one of those people with an old soul. She knows she doesn't need Alexander and she can see that he's happy with Lance and taking him from Lance would be cruel and pointless. But she'll be friends with Lance later on so it's not like she'll never see him again.
- I still can't draw dragon wings to save my life
- Leaf keeps control over Poseidon using somewhat alpha male tactics. As long as he knows he can't get away with disobeying her, he will listen.

That Dragonite is truly the only Pokemon I have seen in this comic which I don't like it design for even remotely (all of the other Pokemon have got beautiful designs), so for that I think you have done a very good job.

I love the subtle differences between Arnold and Alex. It's very obvious that they're two different dragons, but yet the same species. I also find it really interesting to note how much brighter Arnold is in comparison, and you especially see the differences in his expression and the shape of his horns- he's very regal and has a lot of life in him. Alex just doesn't have that, and it's clear from the state of his face that he's more of a lost soul than a lively warrior. I'm really excited to see more of those two in future. I feel like there's a lot of places that the story could go with them. c:
As a side note- will we be seeing the rest of Leaf's old team sometime soon?

And it makes me really happy that you noticed all the differences between them- even the colors. You're absolutely right that Alexander is more of a lost (and recovering) soul while Arnold is a straight-up warrior.
I'm going to try to draw the two together for a better comparison later, but they would definitely get along. X)

I really like how unique you make individual Pokemon. Arnold and Alexander look so different, but it's still perfectly clear they're the same species. I do wish we could have seen Alex and Arnold in a panel together for a size comparison, but maybe not in the middle of the Champion matches xD
Also, I thought Poseidon listened to Leaf because he was honoring the life debt he owes her. The alpha male tactics are a cool idea, but it feels a little out of place when Poseidon has been loyal and obedient on his own the entire time. When did Leaf stop trusting him?

He does and Leaf trusts him to protect her- she just doesn't trust him to always honor her wishes to not kill pokemon. He's a very, very powerful pokemon and as mentioned in her battle with Giovanni, the stronger they are, the harder they are to control. A powerful and arrogant pokemon like Poseidon could become feral, killing-machine very easily (which is what happened with Gary's Arcanine). So Leaf's alpha-male tactics aren't to keep him from turning on her and hurting her, it's to keep him completely obedient so he doesn't anyone else.

Oh yeah, I LOVE their designs. Arnold is thick and confidant while Alexander is thin and shy. They look like night and day, and their body language gives away how very different their lives have been.
Ah, okay, that makes a ton of sense. In most Nuzlocke's, the Pokemon get easier to control the longer they're with the trainer. I guess I forgot The Fall isn't most Nuzlockes! xD It's refreshing, you know? It makes sense that Pokemon like Poseidon would try to test their boundaries like that. I bet Leaf looks smaller with every level he gains. (I've been excited for that Arcanine since Lavender Town, and now you taunt me with THAT?? Take your time, of course, but IS IT THE 17th-ish YET?!? xDD)
Hey, also, here's a little fan theory for your universe; Dragonite's are rare because they're lower than Gyarados on the food chain. Both are aquatic, Gyarados are found in fresh and saltwater, so they would share a habitat, and Gyarados naturally learn a bite move that's 4X super effective against Flying/Dragons. Not to mention the size difference. Gayrados are probably eating the Dragonite into extinction!

Yeah, and that makes sense, but Leaf hasn't even had them for a year so... I dunno. I think it would still be different between pokemon depending on personality and power. X)
Poseidon definitely gets more arrogant the more battles he wins and the more Leaf relies on him as the spine of the team.

I have also headcanon'd that Gyarados and the Dragonite line have been in contest with each other with the Gyarados winning. Except, I was figuring that was why Dragonite gains the ability to fly- to get away from those great blue serpents. XD
But there was no where in the comic to include it. Poseidon's less than impressed comment about the Dragonite was as close I could get.

I always love how you draw Charizard, especially with the two contrasting styles of Arnold and Alexander. (Leaf has a thing for A- names?) I admit that I'm a little surprised that Alex's bit was so small here, considering how big his loss was for Leaf (at least it seemed so to me), but I'm also glad that Leaf is mature enough to understand that Alex now works best with Lance.
Boomy's constant "oh great this shit again" look kills me every time. I'm glad we're getting to see more of the Pokemon's personalities in the E4 battles. That being said, Lance seems like a chill dude too- way calmer than Agatha. Go kick Gary's ass!

That was on purpose- it just shows how much she's grown since she started. Alexander is not as important to her as he used to be. Her motivations have changed, she's changed, and her "new" team is her priority.
And Alexander is in very good hands with Lance. X)
Boomy's face and sass is one of my favorite things. I love that mecha ball. I've had a lot of fun finally getting to show off the team because most of them didn't come around until after I lost Liam. :T
Lance is super chill. And super nice.

Ahh.. where to start about this page.
I love the designs for all the dragons you came up with. I think my favorite is the Aerodactyl it's so neat : > But that slightly derpy Dragonite... oh god. I don't even... :'D Your design makes much more sense considering it's pre evolutions.
Lance is one good looking man too. Why do all the people in your comic are so handsome ;w; ? And I like how you portrait his personality, he's very likable!
The only thing that felt like it flew by a bit to fast to me was the thing about Alexander. I know that, considering that Leaf is in the middle of the Elite four challenge and a lot of other heavy plot things happened, it makes sense that there is no super long talk about the issue.
But in the back of my head I always think back that Alexander was once a big premise for Leaf to start her journey to begin with so this felt a bit uh.. small. But maybe thats just me : >

I'm glad you like my Dragonite design! It took me a really long time to come up with a reasonable design for it given the original art. =w=
Lance is very handsome indeed~ And a precious human being.
(someone actually commented on being excited for attractive Lance on the last chapter so I just had to deliver something extra hot. 
Weeeeeell, understandable, but that was kinda the point? It shows how far Leaf has come since she started this journey.
At the start of her journey, it would have destroyed her to get this far and find out someone else has Alexander- she'd demand him back.
But now? She's not trying to be champion just for her old team anymore because around chapter 20, she had already decided that her old team isn't worth the lives of her new team... And when she lost Liam, that's why she gave up on being champion all together. She wants to be champion now for herself and for her new team.
So seeing Alexander, while surprising and making her a bit sad along with, as you said, Elite Four stuff, just doesn't have the same weight. He's free and happy and safe and that is all that Leaf wants for her old team.
Alexander is definitely a cutie~ I'll have to draw a full body of him and Arnold together sometime.
