Description I meant to put this up last quarter, but forgot. This is a structural model of my library for the high school design. It is conceptually two independent structures for both seismic flexibility and for design purposes.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you - I've been a bit busy. You know, architecture...-

Well, this is a structural model of a school library. It was only part of a larger project I did last year. Conceptually, it has historical president from Beaux Arts libraries that are circular and domed. I split and warped the circle to form the two interlocking parts. The foremost space in the model is where the stacks would be. The second form has computer labs and an interactive lab. We did this project for a principle of a local private school, and he is very forward thinking. He want's to create the "global school," and encourage interaction between students in California with students across the world. I think in the end he envisions his students doing group projects with students in Uganda, hence the interactive lab.

Hmm the shapes are very good, I really love the curves... If there were a city where buildings would have curves like this, or even more and more, I would really like to see it from above... Just imagine it... It would be like a painting... Though cleaning the place would be a pain, really...

And you have restated the most often heard complaint that clients give to their architects after 'It leaks.' - 'It's impossible to clean.'
Usually, one would have to design a cleaning apparatus for the building.

That apparatus is called "rain". And considering the amount of acid it sometimes contains, it'll be just enough.
Those who say its hard to clean this should be more creative. Man, why blame the architect just because I'm too dumb to find out how to clean my own house...

Well, a house... but if you are going to design something that curves under and catches rain and is in a city where everything gets dirty - despite the acid rain, although acid rain is really, really bad for stone buildings.... Of track - sorry. What I mean to say is that all of Frank Ghery's buildings have a built in facilitating systems so the building can be cleaned, thus so should I or I might be sued by clients who can't see out their windows.

I just realized how fortunate I am that I'm not an architect. I wouldn't give monkeys to the client and go for my idea and say "Everyone is intelligent on their level, so go find an architect that suits your loathsome taste in housings". I'm rather bad in handling idiots... without causing some serious injury to their ego
I guess I'll leave it to professionals like you

You only get to tell people to 'get taste' if you are rich and successful enough, or just really brazen and not afraid of life in a trailer park.

Thanks!
Yeah, the structure on this building was a lot of fun to work with.
