Description I had been meaning to do a pic of an Oldsmobile ever since I got an 88 for my current car earlier this year, and it doesn't get too much better than the original 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado: the first mass-produced front-wheel American car since the Cords of the 30s. I still love the unique lines and fastback profile, one of Olds' best cars in its century-long history.

I decided to add younger versions of Chelsea's brother Ian and sister-in-law Joan, while they were dating. I decided it was better to try characters that weren't the main ones, and I was happy to do so! He decided to take her up to the city's overlook, romace ahoy!

The Oldsmobile Toronado belongs to General Motors. Ian, Joan and the artwork belongs to me.

Comments and suggestions welcome. Enjoy!

The Toronado is the world's only front wheel drive muscle car. It's the only transaxel car ever to flip the bird to Camaros, Mustangs, and the like. I have respect for the Toronado. I wouldn't mind adding that to my slowly growing collection.

Defining it as a muscle car may be a wee stretch, but it's a fantastic car with a fantastic design no matter its classification. Best of luck finding one (especially the first generation's initial look). Thanks for the comment.

Really diggin' the muted colours here and the contrast between the Toronado and the red sky backdrop, nice work indeed.

Wow! Your cartoony interpretation of this amazing car is stunning! I always loved the look of this Toronado model. It's not only innovative, but it still looks futuristic today!

I'm flattered to hear it! The Toronado has been a big fave of mine from the Olds division too, certainly it's most innovative car going! Thanks a lot for the kind words!

The car looks great against the forested hills and bronze sunset. And, the two characters look content and dashing.

Many thanks for the comment! Who'd think the gal here would be Chelsea's bitter sister in law later! Much appreciated, Derek!

Nice work. I like the choice of window tint color. I guess this means I need to post a photo of my Corgi model of the same car.

Indeed I do. She's not too pretty, but she's a survivor and has character. Once I get a macro lens I'll post the photo.
You're welcome for the comment.

Well, I think all that drawing you have done of late Rich has helped you to no end here.

I am genuinely impressed with this one!

Reminds me of old car ads of the 60's, I've been buying old mags lately. Enjoy your own Tornado matey and don't get too blown away by her! (pardon the awful pun)

Many thanks for the high praise here, pal! I wanted to get this one drawn for ages, and now seemed like the right time! I'll still be looking to improve in terms on character and car interaction!

Oh, and I may have been a bit confusing in the description! I got an Olds Eighty-Eight model, sadly not a Toronado! It still has been a good car for the value, so I'm happy there!

No worries buddy, always happy to lend support where I can. I really look forward as to what is to come, especially if you keep building on your current progress.

Good luck with it all.

Oops! Sorry about that blunder with regards the cars but I suppose the description was a tad mis-leading. Can't beat a good value car that's for sure especially if it sees you straight for a long while!
