Description
When I originally set out to make the phoenix , I had two concepts in mind. One was of a bird with some fiery gold plumage--basically like the original picture (see link above). The other idea I had in mind was a bird made of actual fire, shooting through the air like a comet. So here we have it.Related content

Amazing, but also a little heart-wrenching. Like you know it's about to consume itself, but it leaves this last spectacle of absolute beauty for the world before it does.
I think it's positively gorgeous. Darkening the sky a bit might make it stand out more, but I don't know if that's what you want. Also, I love the flame on it, but I think some parts should be...a little less distinct? Like there's too much busyness? I'm not sure if I explained that well, but that's what I think.
And I do think this is sad.

I totally get what you're saying about the flame--thought that myself actually--but, I was too lazy to try to correct it. XD
I think going out in a blaze of glory is a good way to go, don't you? I mean, if I were a bird, vanishing as a brilliant fireball would be really nice. Dramatic. Also, it *does* get reborn from the ashes, so maybe not too terrible a fate.

Tsk, tsk, laziness! ; ) (You're forgiven.) At least you understood my rambling explanation.
It's still sad! Because...it is. (ahem)
(You didn't just quote that--and I didn't just get it )

KICKAWESOME FANTASMIC! <3 The fire texture is freaking amazing! The background is wicked, too, of course. Did you make it yourself, or was it a photo?

Thank you so much!
The background is actually two photos--one of the sky at sunset, the other a daytime shot of long grass that I was actually lying in at the time. The grass was actually the hardest part of this picture. T_T

Egh. I dislike grass and various kind of foliage. They are much too complicated to draw and make look good.

In photomanipulation they *can* be nice, because you just have a photo and don't have to paint them. But when you are collaging grass from one picture with a sky background from another, it means erasing all the original bkgd around the grass stalks... and that, believe me, is time-consuming.
The only thing worse than grass is peacock feathers. XD

I do not see why that they have to be two different birds. seems to me to that this pic is simply the first one, but with more age under its belt
anywho magnificent work as always

Thank you kindly!
Yeah, this bird does seem older, doesn't it? Like it's on the brink of burning to ash and then being reborn!
