hey man. this pic is good work as usual but if u insist on a critique i have a couple things about it. i like all your 2d work, lights, effects, and coloring. but the thing that kinda bothers me is the fact that about 75% is non colored and only the bottom right corner is colored. so i guess my biggest piece of advice is to either spread the color out a little more or add more to the other places to balance it out a bit. but overall good work my friend

Daaaaaamn ajax, i'm on the floor.
duuUUude,.. I'm just gonna have to say - I got this in my ajax
folder as one of your strongest pieces I've seent to date.
This is massive.
That center piece is soooooo well lit, especially for the material used. Polished shards of platelet armor, glistening.
O_o
I feel like I'm seeing two giant weapons fusing into one with much speed and heat - the look of a ginat event being put into motion.
This is sweet my friend. Amazing job on this.
Keep the lab open for experiments!!!!!!!!!

Thanx Bro .............Think before I do an experiment in future I need to clean up the renders ..........No cleaning was done at all to these renders so there may be jaggies apparent............I wasn't too fussed about that, as it was just a new method I was trying out ........merging files ........ and wondered what ppl thought ...............Take care Bro .............Aj

Have to give you and all the other Bryce people credit. Coz I for one haven't the patience for it which includes sluggish render time.
Cheers. 'tis good.

Thanx bro ...................Renders like that one are pretty slow cos I merged what I call a classic file with a lattice file .....That was what the experiment was all about ..........Sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oow........

Just a curious question.
What kind of machine are you running ? Processor, ram, graphics card.
How long was the render time ?

Dinosaur mate ...............Athlon 750 256ram voodoo5500 128meg.......Render time on this pice was around 14 hrs .......I dont log times , usually leave it chugging away overnight ..........Classic render may take around 2/3 hrs and lattice renders have taken up to 5 days ......all depends on the camera possition .................I got one at 27% now after 3 hrs .....but bare in mind this is all running along with PS7, the net, outlook express and the likes ............I tried running C4d & bryce at the same time, but had to close c4d down ................Hit 99% of proccesor resources .............

Eh. Well. Hmm. I suppose yeah in this day and age it is a bit. Though it'll still keep chugging along.
I just got a new motherboard finally with some Xmas money so I put in the AMD Duron 750 I have. The Duron 900 I have was giving me weirdness even in the BIOS (wacky characters) which I suspect is from the immense heat it was giving off. Damn AMD.
All in all you're running just a little better than I. Heh. I have 384 pc133 sdram and a Creative Labs Riva TNT2 Pro 32ram(more dinosaur than you).

ajax-62 In reply to inception8 [2003-12-24 12:12:13 +0000 UTC]
Hehe Riva TNT2 .....got one in my other machine that the missus uses .......Old K6/3/450 128meg PC100. But I havn't tried using it for rendering ......Was hoping for my new 3ghzt pc around now but the job loss has put it on stop for the moment

inception8 In reply to ajax-62 [2003-12-24 13:07:03 +0000 UTC]
What?! You mean to tell me you gave your missus the lesser of the two machines. Shame. For shame.
BTW the AMD K6 2 and 3 seem to have issues while running Winamp and either trying to work in 3dsmax or anything else for that matter like photoshop i noticed. Does weird staggering cutouts. The newer winamps anyway.

Omg poor guy. Serisouly you should read the description lol I kno exaclty where ajax is coming from it was just the render he wanted critique for. The color and stuff was added quicktimes just to make it look sorta finished.
Yea I love the render It soo sick
whatcha use Bryce? How many shapes is in THAT render lol
And what is this swirly thing coming from teh midle and curving to the bottom here? A torus? Juss curious lol So keep these renders coming theyre great
It'll take a LONG time before I can render something half as good as that lol Cuz I all I kno how to do it take a sphere and wrap it in torus and throw in some light wrap in a huge shpere and everything mirror texture. Any pointers?
Anyway yea this render is insane and keep em up...plz dont delete it lol

Thanx Bud .........Thats where the experiment comes in ........Done in bryce and the experiment was all about merging a coupla files with different styles of render ,,What I call a classic render with spheres and tori and a lattice & terrain render ..........Its all down to which way round you merge the files to get the right output ....Thanx again Bud

Hmmmm, nice colour blends. Good central design too. The perspective takes away the dead centre layout. At the same time it's very well balanced. Strange how the colour suggests that the bottom half of the image is closer than the rest of swirls & metalic bursts. Great job Man.
