Description So here it is! :3 A couple of people on cosplay.com has asked me how I did my Juvia wig, so here it is! The easy, cheap, beginner's way!

Note1: The reason why I did my wig styling this way was because when I was researching on cosplay.com to see what other Juvia cosplayers did to curl their hair, it wasn’t really well explained, and so I had to make a lot of it up.

When I researched, people used hair styling glue and school glue together and when it dried, sewed the curls to stay in one place like how Juvia’s curls should have stayed. Okay, great. I didn’t want to use school glue on my wig (I wanted to reuse it and cleaning it would be easier if I just used styling glue). And then I realized after I tried to sew my curls in one place together, my wig wasn’t the best for that. It just didn’t look good. So I decided it was best to not sew them together and do it the way I thought would work best for my wig and myself.

I also wanted to make my wigs multi-usable for future uses for other characters that I may cosplay one day. So that was why I thought up of this process.

Note2: This tutorial will only work on a heat-resistant wig. :3

Feel free to ask questions if something doesn't make sense or if you are unsure about something. :3

After I made this tutorial and redoing this for the third time, this was how my curls turned out like. 8D



I had to actually sew the curls in place and that really kept it in place even when I was being rough with them. Haha!

The convention I'm going to this year introduced a new game called lipsync. It's where you dress up as a character and lipsync a song that fits the character. I wassss going to do Jenny from Studio Killers, but I decided to do Juvia and lipsync Umbrella by Rhianna.....just as a excuse to finally cosplay Juvia. Hehehe-----

Lol probably XD We were going as KHR the first day, Hetalia the second day (though she wasn't able to finish her Taiwan in time), and Inuyasha at night on the second day and the third day. I was sick on the first day so I had to knock out early.

Lol yep, rememeber I said I stayed up all night trying to finish my friend's pants? I only got 30 minutes of sleep but since I'm a light sleeper I didn't even sleep. :/ Two of my other friends were awake with me too but I'm the one that got sick

But yes it was fun XD, but the weekend was stressful 'cause we hardly got anything done and it was all last minute.

All night for pants?! o,O That must have been one complicated pants! ; 3; I feel your pain. But that really sucks! Only 30 minutes, and technically it didn't count. >>;; Well, lesson learned so this means you have to start early to avoid all of that! Haha!

Well I never sewn anything in my life, well I did take beginning sewing class in school XD but I still sucked. Plus we ended up cutting the fabric too big so we kept remeasuring and trimming it. Lol yea it's was horrible. >.>

Lol yep of course, we're suppose to buy fabric for our Bleach cosplay sometimes before school starts so we can have our measurements and stuff because one of our friends is going out of the city for college so we want to get hers done before she leaves.

Haha, I see! Well pants when I first started was confusing too! But I was used to a sewing machine because my mom owns a whole bunch. So I know how to work one. 8D I remember in my sewing class, I cut my a little too short, but we made the pants into a capris instead. LMAO

Everyday is a learning experience! No one is perfect after all! HAHA.

Ahh, Bleach! <3 Awesome! Haha. Ahhh, yeah, get her measurements before she leaves! I still have to do the same thing for a friend of mine too. :3 Making her cosplay and everything, tee hee! <3

Haha, I played in the game room only a couple of times, that's about it! I would have roamed the halls more, but... we didn't do that as much as I wanted. Oh well, next year! ;D

I don't like touching my mom's sewing machine, it scares me 'cause it's so big lol I made my pants out of weird fabric pattern XD I believe it had a tiger and dragon on it.

I think we were Inuyasha XD I was playing DDR in my Kikyo outfit, gosh that was difficult lol. We usually stayed in one spot near the artist alley and just sat there lol

Lol we have to watch what we buy, though, I have the majority of the things in the house XD. I was able to make a Hibird plushie but I think I'm going to remake one XD and yes, my friend she started out with sewing clothes for dolls, and then we started cosplaying so it gave her the opportunity to sew clothes for actual people. XD

You made a plushie? :3 Awesome! I find those sooooo intimidating and hard to do. =n= I get so scared, I rather just stick with sewing and cosplays. HEHEHE. Your friend sounds awesome. She must have a great time making clothes for people then! LMAO It's good for the experience too. :3 You learn as you make mistakes and whatnot.

8D I never have unfinish cosplay. If I don't finish it in one go (usually), I can't go back and finish it.... for a very long time. So I always make sure to finish the cosplay within two weeks when I first start it, or I will lose interest in it, FAST. >>;;

You know what, that's good that you feel bad. HAHAHA. At least you feel sympathy! My sisters don't. I had to drop two of their cosplays because they weren't willing to learn how to sew to help lessen my load because I have cosplays that I really wanted to do too. (though they are always very helpful with my props :3 Which is always great!) So it's awesome that you want to learn how to sew even a little bit to help her! I'm sure she really appreciates it! <3 And I had only three sisters and a friend to do cosplays for Anime Fusion. That's how stressed I was! 8D LMAO

Lol I sleep through daytime and if I stay up I usually don't get up until 2 of 3 in the afternoon. I take naps when I can XD or when I'm really tired.

Lol yea I can't sleep when the lights are on, like when it suddenly turns on I get cranky lol. I think I learned to ignore the light when I want to XD. I would be afraid to sleep in the basement lol

8D Our basement is pretty homey. There's so much stuff and sewing machines everywhere, it's hard to get scared. 8D But I share the room with my sister, so maybe it's a little less scary? Haha. I learned to ignore the alarm clock. 8D My sister's alarm clock is practically placed at my ears... I still don't wake up to it. 8D I trained myself to not hear it anymore. HAHA.
