Description
Hope this is helpful to you guys ^^ I know some of the pictures are discolored, I don't know why that happened, but I hope you can see them well enough anyway. ^,^A few general things to remember about all wigs...

Is there a replacement for caulk? Where I live, caulk is not easy to find here, especially not for a cheap price.

Hi~ I'm not the person who made this tute, but I can't help but wonder where you got "chalk" from, it was never used in this tutorial Do you mean caulk? It's a different thing.

I love your tutorial, but I'm a little confused by step four. When you flip over the weft and the tape, where exactly do you put the caulk, on the noncoated side of the fiber, under the tape, or on top of the tape itself? Thanks a bunch

I got mine at wal-mart, but I'm not sure if you have that in your country It can also be found at home improvement/hardware stores, like where you'd buy nails and stuff.

XD you're welcome! Glad to help.
Idunno if you have Wal-mart or Lowes/Home Depot in your country, but you can get caulk there. If you can't find any, Elmers glue should work just fine, if you use a lot of it. ^^

Don't worry, it isn't clear in any of the tutorial on the internet that use this material xD It seems so obvious to us that we don't think we should do that

saw this JUST in time for my own wig ;u;
I was trying to find a way to thicken it up, straightening it made it lose a whole lot of volume, and rather than teasing and junk, I'll just do this ;oo; the fact that the bottom of my wig has frizzy fibers might help too, even more volume and good texture rather than "this wig has seen almost a year of raves" texture. XD

birdewilliams In reply to poisonous-van1ty [2011-11-12 19:27:42 +0000 UTC]
Oh goodness, glad you found it then! XD
Yeah straightening does that -- what people don't generally realize is that volume = frizz, even in human hair. What you might do with the frizzy section in your wig is use that at the top of the wefts (put the caulk on that end), so it causes volume at the roots rather than the ends. ^^

poisonous-van1ty In reply to birdewilliams [2011-11-13 01:51:06 +0000 UTC]
unfortunately, I wasn't able to really save what I was cutting off x.x
I was able to add some extra volume by giving the wig a light wave, and there aren't any tracks visible at all anymore, so I was still able to make it look nice ;u;

Are we able to also use glue? My mom won't let me use the caulk and she won't tell me why, and she suggested that I use glue.

birdewilliams In reply to SereneNighingale [2011-10-26 01:57:09 +0000 UTC]
Caulk can get you high if you're using a potent enough brand, that's why. You can use glue, but it might get sticky or melt a little under high temperatures (like prolonged exposure to sunlight). I highly recommend agains superglue or modeling glue -- they'll eat right through your plastic wig fibers -- but I imagine Elmer's white glue would work fine if you use enough layers of it. Also, I recently found StyroGlue: [link] It works very well on everything I've used it for. That's my primary recommendation for you. ^^
