Effervescent and eternally optimistic, Honeycrisp is the youngest foal of Applejack and Flam. She’s your typical “girl next door” and a total sweetheart who couldn’t hurt a fly. She ain't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, especially due to AJ's overprotective nature and rarely stepping outside Ponyville, but what she lacks in wits she makes up for with sheer determination. Put a problem in front her, and gosh darnit, she will find a solution (preferably one where everyone’s happy)!

Her mother’s coddling and her sheltered lifestyle have led Honey to be very innocent and rather naïve. This has made her a bit slow on the uptake regarding social situations. She's actually quite good at reading others' emotions - she just has issues with saying the proper things at the proper times. The problem arises from a limited worldview and lack of experience with the world beyond Ponyville. That said, she doesn't have an ounce of maliciousness in her body and is horrified upon learning she accidentally upset someone. She always tries to see the good in everyone and is seemingly incapable of recognizing that some people are just bad. She hates it when people fight and it’s probably impossible to get her angry about anything.

Honey’s idealism is especially strong in her dreams of the future. She grew up on Sweet Apple Acres – hardly ever leaving it – and loves the farm and Ponyville very much, but longs for some kind of vague adventure, like the stories her mama tells her about when she was fighting monsters every other week (okay, maybe she doesn't want something that exciting). She’s in love with fairy tales and knights in shining armor and true love. She tries to keep her hooves planted on the ground and be realistic, yet can’t help but dream about meeting a prince and falling in love...

*While nowhere near as big and bulky as many of her relatives, Honey is pretty strong for a mare, often picking up heavy items and sometimes other ponies without much ado.

*An amendment to the statement it's impossible to anger her: deliberately harm her garden, and she will rain down hellfire upon thee. That said, her way of releasing anger is still rather childish. She's never actually cursed once in her life, preferring a whole vocabulary of floral and dessert themed "curses".

*Despite being quite popular with the boys around town (and some of the girls), she’s never had a boyfriend. She has no idea this is because her mother, stepfather, Uncle Mac, Aunt Fluttershy, Harvest, and Almanac tend to chase away any colts who have any ill intentions with her, and absolutely terrify the genuine ones. Her lack of experience with love and subsequent hopeless romantic fantasies outclass the also inexperienced Luminescence.

*Surprisingly good friends with Luminescence, despite appearances. Honey is completely unaware of the longsuffering look Lumi often gets whenever they hang out. Her endless enthusiasm, cheerfulness, and innocence can get on the unicorn's nerves sometimes, but Honey has a way of helping even the most cantakerous pony relax. She's made it a personal challenge to get Lumi to genuinely smile and laugh at least once a day.

*She has a pet potbellied pig named Bonnibel. She’s very close with her “darlin’ Bonnie” and fiercely proud of her – the pig’s won many contests. Honey gets very offended on Bonnibel’s behalf whenever someone insults her.
