What?! The alaskan water looks inviting?!

you go ahead and swim in it if you dare... but I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on being dead in a half an hour. Don't let it fool you. that water's freezing. *shudders to even think about swimming in it*

Shattered-Innocence In reply to akpanda [2004-11-01 09:47:30 +0000 UTC]

i know that lol... well not the dead in half an hour bit but i told you i was crazy..... i still think it looks pretty lol i would still dip my toes in at the very least even if i had to sit in a hot bath afterwards lol

I'm not sure on how long, actually. it depends on where you are and what time of year it is. But I figure half an hour is close enough. I'm not a stickler for details, but if I find out, I'll let you know. After all, I did live there for 13 years. I should already know.

yes, I can't help but want to test the waters when I see them, too. I know it's always going to be cold, but still, after all these years, I find myself sticking my hand in and being surprised at how cold it is. Silly me.

Within city limits? or a suburb? Out of curiosity.

Gorgeous setting

Nice capture, with good composition. May I suggest you try some colour/exposure correction to give it more contrast and eliminate the haze? It should then stand out and make a more powerful statement, without detracting from the serenity.

Looking forward to seeing more of your pics.

I've just edited this photo like you asked. Tell me what you think of it now.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

slydermac In reply to akpanda [2004-10-28 10:14:58 +0000 UTC]

Yesss! Much better
The image still has a soft feeling but the detail now appears crisp and fresh. The first stack has good contrast while the second accentuates the distance, scale and atmosphere of the setting.
The lighting wasn't affected too much but there is some unfortunate patternisation/digitisation in the sky. Not to worry, it is nothing some noise reduction or softening won't fix.

Well done!!! I like it, now all it needs is a border.

btw - thanks very much for the watch, comments and critique are always welcome.

I hadn't noticed that. thanks for pointing it out.

You're right, it does need a border. I'll go ahead and fix that here pretty soon. I'm working on a slight problem with a few new photos I'm stitching together.

You sound like you could help me a great deal. The same applies to you. You're comments and critique are more than welcome here.

I'll make a note of that and put it to use for a later date.
For I might be able to know little to nothing about photography and turn out some good shots, I can't do the same with PS.

Thanks though! That sounds like a good idea!

And thanks so much for your interest in my photos!
