I appreciate it thanks! Poured in a lot of hours making sure that the specular highlights were perfect, that the sprite appeared translucent in areas where it was in game, that the movement of water made sense.

That is exactly what I was going to guess before looking at the title and description. I really love the flowy feel of the shading. You can just feel it shifting and moving as if made by currents.

That's the idea, making all those moving water patterns, from the twisting effect on the lower portion of the body to the still ocean waves towards the face.
The battle between Sonic and Perfect Chaos on Dreamcast/Gamecube just didn't do the intro video justice, so I wanted to see if I could capture that scene as pixel art instead.

In all fairness, it's not like I've been working on this thing non-stop. Once University picked up I had to stop what I was doing and focus on the classes. Finally got the chance to finish it up during the summer.
