Cats can seriously hurt you? When was the last time you saw an article in the paper titled "TABBY CAT MAULS TWO YEAR OLD GIRL?" Last I checked, there are FAR more dog-related deaths than cat ones, unless the cat somehow gave you a disease.

And obviously they must be good for SOMETHING, or mankind wouldn't have domesticated them and kept them around for 6,000 some odd years.

I have a friend who once had a cat that supposedly gave a child a potentially life-threatening gash on the wrist (like a 'suicide cut'), but that's the closest I've heard to a domestic cat ever mauling someone.

Oh! I know this is late, but my pet cat, Cole, became really mad that I went to pet my neighbors pet cat, a few years back. And then I went to try and pet him, and he used his hind legs and clawed me from wrist to elbow, right arm of course. But he bit a heart shape into my palm, weird how that happened. And I got scared and didn't tell my family, after everyone thought I was "emo" and yeah... :/ But I, since then, have forgiven him and yeah. There are cats that can do that.

Cats are ASSHOLES man. I've had to smack my cat a few times. And I don't like hitting animals, but I had to smack it to GET IT OFF!

I did nothing, and my pet cats are really nice! They just are mean if you did something wrong. Or...wrong in their mind.

My cat sometimes turns and attacks people for walking too near her. This causes problems alot, because she sits on the stairs and then viciously mauls your leg while you're carrying a heavy bag of laundry up a steep staircase. So she gets a smack-um.

o.o; Um..my cats aren't like that. BUT the cats I know are nice, but every cat is different.

O wow... that cat must have been really mad or scared, I've had 4 cats and none of them have ever even hurt me as so much to give me a cut.
But anyway glad that person's fine now, they have a scar to prove it xD

He is the most fucking relaxed thing I have ever seen.

That is a pretty boss cat. I once knew someone who swore up and down that their cat killed a deer. (Granted, it was a baby deer, but STILL!) It was a massive farm cat.

To your saying a cat killed a baby deer? MINE KILLED A SNAKE. Like a 5 foot black snake that could probably eat her without unhinging its jaw. It was getting to close to the kittens, so she's was just all.. Killing. I watched. 8D

Are you unaware of how dangerous dogs can get when they're feral or are just plain nasty? Wild dogs can attack livestock, other pets, and people. They're also most likely larger than cats so they can probably KILL their victims if they're the right size.

We're all aware of that hunny, we have brains you know. You can keep throwing out your stupid reasons for hating the Felidae family, we'll keep retorting with the magical thing known as logic.

Pupachu In reply to stripedfoxx [2010-04-13 02:38:21 +0000 UTC]

You keep saying "Other animals have diseases too but not cats" Now your saying I don't have logic. And let me hear a reason why you don't like the canine family.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

stripedfoxx In reply to Pupachu [2010-04-13 03:01:00 +0000 UTC]

Here, let me help you see through the thick glasses you've got on.

And cats could have deseases so they could kill you. >.<

That's YOU bringing up the ingenious logic of "cats carry diseases, dogs are wonderful so they NEVER carry diseases". I corrected you, because EVERY animal can carry a disease. I never said that cat's DON'T carry a disease, I'm just trying to make your tiny brain a bit larger.

Wolves are canines! Felines are stupid. And wolves(and canines) are not. >.<

To quote something I say a lot to people like you. "Do you hear what you're saying?" DUR HUR CATS ARE STOOPID! You give off no reason in that post, and all other reasons are retarded.

Well, you can't really do anything with a cat, I mean, they don't help anyone!

I'm not gonna repeat what alex5657123 said, because she took the words out of my mouth.

everybody's saying dogs are dumb and wolves are horrible- but guess what? They are both wrong

This is ignorance on your part of both people and how serious some take the internet. If you look in the Anti-Wolf club, it's more hostile towards idiots that view the wolf as the single greatest animal on the planet. Most of them love wolves, they just hate the assholes that make it hard to love them.

here's just a few more quotes of you expressing ignorance against cats

cats can seriously hurt you(well if theres kids) and they don't really do anything else

cats can be like that when they are feral

And some dogs don't have bad smell, and a lot of cats I know smell bad.
(You've never been around outdoor dogs then, probably those froo-froo purse dogs that get baths every day)

Now, scroll through my posts. Have I ever once said that cats could NEVER carry diseases? Have I ever said that I HATED Canines? No, no I haven't. Most of my family owns dogs and I love them to death. One of them died this year, and I was depressed for weeks. Now I have cats, they're very clean and caring. Here's the magic, I view them as equal animals.

The only thing I really hate is ignorant fucksticks that use moronic reasons to despise an entire species that could just as easily be used against the species they defend with no logic.

Feel free to keep up this argument because all your doing is making my shitty day a bit more shiny.

I said all animals can have diseases and you were like cats don't. >.<

Guess what? Most of your were pretty stupid too!

Dogs can do pretty much anything cats do, but dogs do more.

I'm not saying the wolf is the greatest. Why don't you actully read what I say. But guess what? People draw what they want.

Your very-well, I don't know. But you are not very smart. And stop making fun of everything that people think are good. Because any of your stuff isn't good either.

No, no you didn't. You just said cats carry diseases so they were automatically stupid. And in case you didn't get it from my previous post. I NEVER SAID CATS ARE BETTER THAN DOGS!!!

Guess what? Most of your were pretty stupid too!

All I can hear is "I KNOW YOU ARE BUT WHAT AM I?!"

Dogs can do pretty much anything cats do, but dogs do more.

Never said anything against that, dogs have played an important part in history. But you can't deny cats have played a part that was just as important. Pick up a book, edjumicate yourself for once in your life.

I'm not saying the wolf is the greatest. Why don't you actully read what I say.
Look at ANY of your quotes from my last post and you'll see why I don't believe that.

Your very-well, I don't know. But you are not very smart. And stop making fun of everything that people think are good. Because any of your stuff isn't good either.

Cats = small, all housecat breeds are this
Dogs = moderately large if they're the right breed, the smaller ones have a smaller rate of survival without an owner

What does this mean?

Dogs can kill humans easier than cats.

What is that?

Common sense!

Are you unaware of the damage mice can do to a home? They're smelly (or at least their waste is), they leave droppings everywhere, and they chew furniture. Ancient people domesticated cats in the first place because they KILL mice and rats and the like, because rodents were being bothersome. Yes, dogs are helpful for some things. But cats are helpful, too, and it's not very fair to say they're "less helpful" than dogs.

Cats are smaller and more low-maintenance than most dogs, and they generally don't smell bad unless they're sick or you don't clean their litter box. Plus they're pretty dang funny sometimes.

And it's stupid to say cats can "seriously hurt" people when dogs are typically more dangerous - a lot of dog breeds are bigger than most cats will ever be, and bigger dogs can sometimes hurt people without intending to. (My parents used to have this giant alaskan malmute, and he was absolutely huge - he would jump up at people, too. It wasn't aggressive or anything, but it isn't fun to have a dog that's your height while on two legs jumping all over you. I personally would rather have a cat jumping at me than a dog.)

Cats can help, but not as much as dogs. >.< Dogs help blind people, they are therapy dog, there are search and rescue dogs, and so on.

Yeah, but they rub on you all the time and jump everywhere and it just grosses me out. And some dogs don't have bad smell, and a lot of cats I know smell bad. Yeah, cat owners thing of funny is knoking good things over. -_- I mean sometimes they can, but most of the time...

Yeah, cats will probably attack you purposely. >.<

Honey are you aware that dogs are not the only animals used as therapy animals? Cats are used as therapy animals: [link]

They help autistic children and old people and can give people a source of comfort. The fact that they are relatively low-maintenance is helpful to people who may not have the energy or time to bathe and walk a dog.

And cats are generally only aggressive if you piss them off. I've never EVER had a cat act aggressive towards me unless somebody pissed it off first. Cats are independent and have their own personalities, they don't do whatever you want them to do like dogs. As long as you don't chase it around the house, hold it when it doesn't want to be held, or scare it and disturb it while it's eating then in general they are almost never aggressive.

Pupachu In reply to WerewolfOfTheWater [2010-05-28 03:01:37 +0000 UTC]

Dogs do more then therapy. You don't ever see cats searching for people or helping blind people.

Cats shed everywhere, so its also a lot of work.

When are dogs aggressive? When people make them mad. Same with cats.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WerewolfOfTheWater In reply to Pupachu [2010-05-28 17:38:20 +0000 UTC]

That isn't true, there are stories of cats that have woke up their owners and led them out of fires. And why are blind people the only people who matter

LOL dogs shed everywhere too certain breeds shed all year round and leave hair everywhere.

Dogs can be aggressive for a number of reasons, their social structures are more complex. My dog got aggressive for awhile because of faulty medicine and she was fine once she was taken off of it.
