Description There was an overwhelming urge to add Kitty to this sketch, because Peter is just a hollow shell without her. I did spend more time on her than Peter. With that said, Lockheed might be a welcome addition also.

11 x 14, about 38 minutes.

Thanks, buddy. When I was reworking this last night, I noticed a few errors, so I'll post a revised sketch later on.

Very fun--really like how Kitty's hair came out.

Thanks,Rags. I try to make things fun when drawing, for any viewers and myself. It's what this is all about for me. Gonna lightbox some of this sketch and redraw most of it onto another sketch, then transfer that to Strathmore 500 before the final inks. We'll see if I can improve on her hair a bit.

Wow great concept. Loving the sentiment, does harken back to the X-Men of my youth... I think you've drawn Kitty's legs a little too long though and there does seem to be much forshortening when they are on Piotr's shoulders. Otherwise it's great and I love the styling.

Hey, thanks! I guess my early John Byrne influence shows up once in a while, that's how he drew her, a long legged ballerina type. I tried to offset it with a slightly foreshortened midsection, but that didn't work out too well. If I had her cradling his head and leaning over more, and increased her head size, her torso could have been lengthened in perspective, and the impression of longer legs would be lessened. The idea was to get a quick sketch idea for an inked piece, and I was 8 minutes over the target time. But now that I've gotten feedback from you all, hopefully I can make a kickass finished piece.

Yeah, I wanted to capture a moment of happiness for Peter, before they did you-know-what to Kitty. I was greatly saddened when they killed him off, thinking I would never get the chance to draw him professionally some day. My relief at seeing him return was negated by what happened to her. Marvel tends to kill my favorite characters.

well, we've seen these cycles over and over... shouldn't be too long until they're restored!

Hey, thanks! Do you think I should add a gigantic Lockheed looming in the background, or a normal sized one on her shoulders?

Hmmmmm? That's a good question. If you do a gigantic on looming, you take away from Colossus's size. Then if you do on her should you get kind of a pyramid affect...sooo.

I think I'd go with the normal size kind of peering out from behind Kitty. Tricky...

Ok, thanks for the input! I'll go with the normal Lockheed.
