I've made this point twice before , so I won't repeat myself here.What's different this time is that this is based on my own early attempts at drawing feathered Velociraptor.
So you could say this is a "don't do what I did if you're aiming to draw a reasonably accurate Velociraptor" deviation.

This reminds me: What's your opinion of the 1st link's Velociraptor? I ask b/c, despite the fact that it's on the cover of my favorite dino book ( [link] ), I have mixed feelings about it: On the 1 hand, its arms are folded & its body is hidden by its feathers; On the other hand, its hands have scales (as opposed to wing feathers) as does its face (as opposed to feathers like the 2nd link's Velociraptor or naked skin like Rey's).

Yeah, it looks kind of like a gorilla suit to me. Could use wing feathers and a feathered or naked face as you said (and non-pronated hands as well).

Sometimes I think my Velociraptors are way too feathered to be perfectly honest, lol.

Not feathering enough is a bigger problem to be honest. A reasonable depiction of Velociraptor might look something like this: [link]

But if I put too many feathers on it, it won't look like a "dinosaur" any more! >.<

I'm currently looking at how I draw Velociraptor, and how I draw Deinonychus....I can safely say that my Deinonychus looks much more convincing....even if it IS coloured like an orca.
Some people won't learn, I guess.
