I love the colours in this. They're pastel-y but vivid, without being overwhelming. This looks like it could be an illustration in a children's fairy tale book or something.

OOhh! Thank you so much for the nice comments. I always complain about how bad my colouring is, and how difficult i find it etc etc, so it's nice to hear a little bit of encouragement every now and again- so thank you!
although this peice didn't turn out quite the way i would've like it to, i suppose it's not all that catastrophic as i initially thought just after i finished it. all you deviantart peeps have been so nice to me with your comments, i don't think i got a single crit for this drawing (which i am amazed at, i thought i'd be flamed to hell and back- cause he's about to eat a fish...and the colours are ghastly XD).

Thank you :3 I personally can't descide whether i like the colours or not...still shocks me sometimes, how different images can look on different computer screens. for example, this image looks too light on my screen, but it looks much better on library computer screens...but i won't go into too much boring technical detail XD thanks for commenting!!

Thank you Mirre ^_^ I think this is my first time drawing water, and it was really hard, cause I suddenly realised that I have no idea what water looks like. So I just thought of some japanese pictures that I remembered seeing, and the way they depicted water, and I based my waves on that.
I'm glad you like this scene...I kept on thinking some people might have some reservation about this peice, cause it's about hunting, and my bf didn't help by telling me that i needed to get my head examined (but he's generally mean like that about some of my drawings XD the little twerp) but so far i haven't had any negative comments...so i guess it's not as 'daring' as i orignally thought XD

Well I think you did really well. And practise makes perfect!
I think it would have been a greater risk for negative comments if you had drawn say... a hunted deer. Most people do not tend to think about fish as animals.

yup yup, practice does indeed help me improve, though inspiration is much better for it

XD I'm so glad you like it ^_^ I think the only reason he looks manly here is 'cause he's about to gobble up a fishy +_+ which is a bloody, savage and vicious feat, so yeah...manly XD
hmm, i just wish i had a bit more time, then i could've gone REALLY wild with the colouring. I really enjoyed colouring this (normally I can't stand it), it was so much fun
