Personality: The true chestnut mare of the polo ponies, Emmy is not a kitten to pick up without gloves. Even at her age and somewhat paltry height, she’s got the tenacity of a true lead mare and displays this full force on the pitch. It’s clear she understands it’s a competition as she does not take kindly to losing, sometimes even going as far as sinking her teeth into the behinds of fellow horses if it means giving herself the advantage. She is also not at all disturbed by any shenanigans from stallions, even ones twice her size, and handily gets them back in line; sometimes with the power of her side-eye alone, sometimes with more aggressive tactics. Ever seen a tiny mare shriek at an 18hh stallion so hard he sits down? Yeah, us neither, until Emmy came in. Her dominance, unfortunately, does turn itself on riders who don’t know what they’re doing, so she is only ridden by 4th year students and up and only by the ones that volunteer for the role.
History: The stud that sold her was going out of business, but they had her controlling the stud’s entire equine population, stallions included, like it was no big deal. She certainly does the same here, so the academy supposes the purchase was worth it for that alone.
