Description
This is my picture for the awesome upcoming Rare Anthro Calendar 2010 for which I chose to illustrate the Harpy Eagle.You can look through the project works at the Official Rare Anthro Calendar .
Harpy Eagles are utterly awesome creatures. Being one of the largest birds on earth, their appearance in addition with their yelling is nearly kingly and thrilling.
I've only got 4 calendars left! These are collector items and won't be available anymore after that! Note me, if you're interested. :]

Okay, funny story. So a search string on Google for site:*.deviantart.com werewolf calendar 2009 "artist's comments" (the quotations part being a last-ditch effort to weed out non-deviation pages) somehow had this page as one of the results. AND it something I end up faving! A winner is me!
Yeah, didn't find any instance of "werewolf" in the comments, except in Google's cached page.
Anyway, nice work, and yes I love the lighting too. Reminds me of the title screen for Braid.

This was my favourite image from the rare anthro calendar. The coloring and the combination of birdlike and humanlike (or catlike? I am reminded of a griffon) anatomy in the legs are really striking.

This is fantastic! You're composition is brilliant, especially the way the sunlight in the distance adds contrast to the wing shape. I love you're moss on the branch too (as always). What I like most though, that really pulls the picture out from others for me, is the jewelery the bird is wearing and the human/mammal-like pose with arms as well as wings. Great image!

I think the wing should either be folded or the canvas longer - as it is the picture doesn't quite have enough room to 'breathe'.

Wow, very cool. I really like the way you've designed the anthro, especially how the feathers blend in to the hands/feet. Speaking of which, the hands/feet would have to be my favourite parts - love those talons! Great work on the background to, it really adds a lot to the scene.

This is so beautiful! I really like the way you did the stripes and the detail in the feathers. Also the orange sky looks fantastic against the green in the tree and jewelry. Very calming and gorgeous atmosphere, awesome work.

That's just...wow...I'm speechless...Harpy eagles are my favorite bird of prey, and this is amazing. It does them plenty of justice, even in this wonderfully rendered anthro form.
