So perhaps the wolf is balance, the birds (being black) are wisdom and the red is passion. This is the struggle between the lower and higher functions of the being. (note lower and higher are not indicative of anything in particular, just a way of getting (having, showing?) bearings)
Nice work regardless, for all we know you may have just made a pretty picture and are laughing at the people taking meaning from it for we all search for meaning and because we search, we find it.

I think(if the wolf is who is imprisoned) that he might even enjoy it in a sick way, which makes it enigmatic. The red around the neck and eyes give him an almost demonic look, while the ravens' wings make him more like some dark angel. That's what he reminds of; a trapped dark angel who has accepted his burden and decided to make the best of what he's got.

I see it like the wolf has been consumed by the ravens and is finally starting to tear away from them. However, the price my be his life or sanity. The flames/firey smoke coming out of his eyes represent the years of inprisonment he's suffered or terrors he has seen. Whatever the image is suppose to represent, this is an amazing piece of art. I only hope that one day I could create something like this. Great job!

I can't tell who's imprisoned, the wolf or the ravens. That makes it perplexing in an interesting way. But the painting itself is very beautiful and meaningful to me personally. For a long, long time I rped a wolf spirit who's lover was a raven spirit. They went through a lot of pain and suffering together until their relationship went to something slightly more platonic, but still beyond and more complex that either romance or friendship. And that's what it reminds me of. Something that as humans we're not used to understanding. We can't wrap our brains around it, it's too deep for some reason and hence, very hard for us to attain. At the same time, both creatures look like they're suffering anxiety. The ravens want to be free, it looks like, but the wolf is holding onto them too tightly. Meanwhile, the wolf has also appeared to have become one with them. So either way neither is free from the other. They're a part of each other whether they like it or not.
