Description
For those familiar with Dartmoor, or even those who appreciate the landscape, its easy to understand why Vixen Tor holds such great appeal, but entry to the public is forbidden because it is privately owned.This was taken on the say I went rainbow hunting unsucessfully. This is more or less the lowest the sun can get in the sky before Vixen Tor, which lies beneath surrounding hillsides is in shadow.
I really need to get out more at this time, when the light has softened, is highly directional, and yet doesnt have the trademark warmth of sunset.
On the distance lies Great Mis Tor. A location with commanding views but which is itself very challenging to photograph.

Quite a beautiful picture with some great lighting and contrast in this natural setting. I did have to go to Wiki to learn this was in UK, though...two points off for that. LOL! Superb capture!

Well, Stonehenge you can claim to be a popular historic monument that is known world wide, but I doubt many people worldwide know what or where Vixen Tor is.
