Description
OK so story time...A few months ago I started taking a class to improve on my illustration and digital coloring skills. Usually at the end of the week my coloring teacher, gives a special assignment, like coloring the linework of certain artists and concept artists, or trying to redraw a picture using digital methods. Now usually I don't like posting what I draw during the course, 'cause lets face it, nobody likes to see hyper-realistic lego pieces, rocks and ball exercises. And on the other hand I don't like posting things where an important element like the linework, wasn't done by me.
But finally this week my teacher gave us a rather complex portrait as a base model. And I'm actually really pleased with the results!
Anyway although this is pretty different from my usual work I hope you guys enjoy it!
As always your comments are always appreciated! And keep being awesome!
P.s. I have no idea where the original photo came from so props to the photographer of the original and his/her amazing model!

Thanks a bunch! It took a lot of trial and error to make, but I could't be happier with the result!

Well I do ask stuff like this cause I do indeed want to work hard and do better and I feel that I am. I also want to interact with artists like yourself so sorry if my various questions and favors seem "repetitive" to you in any way.

Hiya sorry for the ridiculously late reply!
Uhm... did I miss something? 'Cause my last message was all about working hard and following your dreams but this last reply makes it seem as if I were annoyed with you.
As for the questions and favors part... Ask away! If you want to know something, go for it! I'll try answering your questions at the best of my ability! Art is like 25% learning and the rest is just hard work, creativity and inspiration!
And if I didn't make myself clear before... You are becoming a better artist. Don't think I haven't checked your profile from time to time to see what you're up to. And I can tell you that in the two years I've known you your art has improved quite a bit, there's still a bit of room for improvement, but you're definitely on the right track!

I'm working hard as much as I can with my work. Art and animations. Personally I don't trust school. It's expensive and in the end they don't teach you what you WANT to learn (It's not like they teach you what you NEED to learn in the first place so what does it matter?)
I'll keep working hard on my craft and I won't give up. But do you believe a guy like me with my current style can improve right away?

... How did we go from; ask me anything and I'm willing to help, to I don't trust schools?
Look off topic, is your first language English? And how old are you exactly? I'm not trying to be mean or offensive, but I've been suspecting for a while that your comments have been put through a translating program. I mean it'd at the least explain some of the communications issues I've had with you. Like I said I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I'm just trying to make it easier to communicate, because sometimes it feels like I'm talking about A,B and C but you answer by talking about 1,2 and 3.
Aside from that, schools aren't necessarily expensive and they do teach you what you need to know to function correctly in society. Even if you go to a public school (which is pretty cheap) or to art school seminars (that give free classes and teach you skills that every artist needs). Look after I graduated high school I went to college to study digital art, I learned a great deal and sure there were some classes I wished I didn't have, but those classes still taught me important skills that I still use today on a day to day basis. And even after I graduated college I still attend courses and master classes to become a better artist. You might not trust schools but they're a necessity and they do help, and if you think they're expensive or aren't teaching what you need to know, you're either a fool or haven't gone to the right school. It might sound harsh but it's the truth.
As for the matter of becoming "good" right away... No I don't think you can become a "good artist" right away. Becoming an artist takes time, passion and most of all, a lot of learning. From what I can see you're more or less on the level I was about 8 years ago. You only know basic coloring and construction, but are leaving behind essential skills like anatomy, proportions, lighting, shading and perspective. I know it sounds kind of harsh but you can improve, you just got a lot to learn to get there. All I can do is hope to help you out where I can, but you have to be the one willing to put your best step forward and be open to studying learning what you need to know.
