Alistar (left) Razen (right) guess who wins?Welp, tried my hand with backgrounds again. Still got a lot of work to do before I'm proficient with them xD. Also my first time doing a complete piece in Clip Studio Paint~ so, that was interesting XD
The prompt was "gazing into each other's eyes" but honestly, that would turn into a contest on who blink firsts. And Razen does this annoying thing where he switches his eye color from green to red and back again, all while muttering "blink, blink, blink."

The best thing about this drawing is the lighting. It's absolutely beautiful. That background is stunning and would work even as a standalone piece. The play of light on the branches looks amazing.
The characters look a bit too simplistic in comparison. They don't look bad, but they just can't match that beautiful background. The anatomy is overall good, but eyes don't look like that from the side. I used to draw eyes like that years back before someone pointed it out. I didn't want to believe them, but looking at photos of people taken from profile view shows that eyes aren't that elongated. Also, the mouths look a bit too wide and the corners look like they're slit.
Even if you generally draw in manga style, it's recommended to look at real people every once in a while. I've been told that before you can draw stylized people, you need to know how anatomy works in reality.
Since the light goes in beams like that, you could've taken a risk of painting light spots on their skin, with most of it being in the shadow. Currently it looks like they are fully lit, even though the light is seemingly coming from the background. There's even a highlight on the blond guy's hair, which cannot be coming from the same source as the lightbeams. This contributes to the impression that they're not in the same space as the background. The shadows on the ground could also be more prominent. It's a good practice to pick one primary lightsource and stick with it faithfully. There can be reflections, but they won't be as bright as the primary (sun) light.

The light in the painting is simple divine! It not only engages and pleases the eye, but it adds a wonderful sense of nature, life, and liveliness that underscores the easy friendship and rapport of the OTP.
I think you did an excellent job with the background. The foliage gives the piece an interesting texture and a very realistic backdrop. I love how you used a blue-green for the sky instead of a straight blue. It's a very pretty analog to the various greens of the trees. It was also a great choice to make the branches and trunks a deep forest green instead of a brown. That continues the visual interest you've created.
It was wise to make Alistar's shirt that rust color to contrast a bit with so much blue and green, but I think there or elsewhere you could push it to closer to red in order to complement the mostly green palette even further.
You made a fantastic work for this challenge! I really like how their expressions and body language convey their closeness but in a very friendly way, like they're an OTP but this picture shows how they're also best friends. I admire that you didn't go straight for a romantic connotation but rather a platonic flavor.

It looks awsome but the characters kind of look separate from the background you but them in, and the person on the right’s eye looks like it’s shifting away from the guy, where they should be focused. You wanted to show the white on both sides of their iris, but you really don’t have too. Great drawing though!

Hehe, yeah! I decided that the only way I'm going to get backgrounds is to draw them! Also, I just really like the fact that the Academy Grounds has several fairy colonies on it. They hate magic, but they don't seem to mind the little fay all that much XD
