I love your theme man.
It's elegant, minimal and functional.
thank you very much!
one request:
the soft7 on top doesn't reverse the shading on the taskbar. When it's docked at the bottom of the screen it makes sense to have the dark side of the gradient on the bottom, but when docked at the top, the dark side of the gradient is still at the bottom, and the white line (what made Microsoft think this white part is so effective?)is present too.
Can you pretty please reverse the shading and remove the white line?
I'd be very thankful.
Cheers a plenty,
R.

Thanks for your comment !
It's a good request ! Well, in fact I was wondering why nobody asked me to change this taskbar on top
I agree !
I haven't change it yet because I'm not using it myself and because I prefer spend times on other things more important but I should change it sooner or later ^^
This days I'm also re-doing some of the things already there in the theme because it was not the best I could do... In some way I "softize" the already soften things ^^
unfortunately this takes a LOT of time ^^

got another question, when switching to other themes, and switching to other themes, then going back to soft theme, do u need 2 restart?

AlexandrePh In reply to kenny1up [2009-11-12 04:18:36 +0000 UTC]
Well, a trick you can use (that I use maybe 200 times per day when I work on the theme ) is to first switch to the Windows basic theme (without aero) and then change your theme, this way you don't have to restart each time and everything will apply correctly.

Is anyone having trouble changing the iTunes shortcut icon? The "change icon" button is grayed out.

sgraves In reply to sgraves [2009-11-11 08:42:22 +0000 UTC]
Solved.
I deleted the shortcut from my desktop, went to the iTunes 'rogram Files' folder. Then right-clicked the iTunes.exe and clicked copy, then pasted it as a "shortcut" on the desktop by right-clicking and choosing "Paste Shortcut".

You must restart for the theme to be applied? Don't as soon as you click it, the theme is instantly applied?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AlexandrePh In reply to kenny1up [2009-11-10 03:10:36 +0000 UTC]
The theme is not fully applied until you restart, but most part applied instantly.
Do As I said and it will work, I also don't say to restart if it will not be necessary

Uhm, one question: How do you managed it to change the explorer icon in the superbar? I can't change it.
Always when i place the shortcut on the superbar, it's still the standard icon. Can you help me?

as said on the description : read the comentaries !
last time :
"It's because your Windows 7 starts with the explorerbackup.exe instead of the explorer.exe.
My advise is to both change your explorerbackup.exe name into explorer.exe (in order to not delete it as it is used at the moment), and at the same time change the other explorer.exe into another folder.
To be sure that everything will work correctly at the next start up, I think you should open the task manager (right-click on the superbar > Start Task Manager) then select explorer.exe (or explorerbackup.exe), "End Process"; then File > New Task (Run...) > browse and launch explorer.exe (the one with the right orb).
then restart the computer"

Thanks, I'm glad you like it ! Yes I'm still softening everything but now I take my time to do things right and to check for bugs before release it, I've also changed some little details that were already there on the 1.7 version, I'm trying to make things even better, but it's a lot of work !

I admit that the sort of light-blue-green by default on Windows 7 is not that bad, and all this gray on my theme can lack of joy, but I like the way this looks more professional and neutral (easier to work with).
But I will also make a 2nd version of Soft7, which might be called "softAERO" which will be based on the final version of Soft7 but with colors nearer from the default aero style (but still no shiny and glassy things )
Thanks !

How do you change the folder icon in the taskbar? Using a shortcut doesnt work since opening a new folder just shows the default one.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AlexandrePh In reply to asunawa [2009-11-06 04:22:21 +0000 UTC]
It's because your Windows 7 starts with the explorerbackup.exe instead of the explorer.exe.
My advise is to both change your explorerbackup.exe name into explorer.exe (in order to not delete it as it is used at the moment), and at the same time change the other explorer.exe into another folder.

No im not referring to the Orb. I'm talking about the Libraries folder icon, which I cant change.

AlexandrePh In reply to asunawa [2009-11-15 17:46:07 +0000 UTC]
Yes I know, my answer is for that, the libraries folder icon refers to the explorer.exe, it's the same application
