Is this a reference to the White Army which faught the Red Army during the Russian Civil War?
I think that had the er, White Russians allied with Europeans against Red Russians allied with Russia - but the Reds one. I think.

Yes, this fictional universe is based partly on the Russian Revolution, and it's nearly the same thing.
Britain and Germany support the White Russians, but China supports the Reds.

I find your pictures so interesting, both concept-wise and artistically. The background is both intimidating as well as eerily enchanting. You've done a great job mixing that in with your characters, who are very well-drawn. I love the detail, especially the facial expressions!
