So true, it breaks my blood-pumping heart.

Y'know, I told my mother I was an atheist, and she didn't believe me. She thought I was lying.

Because, obviously everyone believes in a god.

She went as far to say that she has "heard stories about those people (atheists)".

Hell to the yes. Religion does destroy what it touches, and in freaky ways, too.

How much blood has been spilled and how many lives have been lost? How many wars have been fought and acts of senseless destruction and ruin perpetrated? How much of the very world itself, in all it's beauty, has suffered the despoiling touch of those driven to one cause or another by their religion? How much good in this world has been lost, all because of religion?

Why, even now it serves to sows the seeds of descent among the others who have commented, as I'm sure you can plainly see. All religion has ever been good for is to keep humanity as a whole divided and weak, rather than united and whole, and so I ask you, is it really worth it? Is it worth anything at all?

Really think on it a bit, and then tell me what religion is truly worth. Is it worth even the smallest fraction of all the trouble it has caused this world?

And by the way, love the pics. Very well done.

Christianity is knot a religon, it is sciance and is knot to be compared with Islam, or Buddhism, or any other belief.
how typical to have a cross and Knot a Koran or a statue of Budda breaking the earth in too.

Umm Christianity isn't science. It's religion. How you can think otherwise baffles me a bit O_o

Lord-Kothless In reply to blackpantherindigo [2008-07-22 18:30:17 +0000 UTC]

If God created all existance includinding the fisical and spirital world and all life, isn't that science?
The molicules that make up all matter the very soal, isn't that science?
An athiest and a Christain can't both be correct but they can both be wrong, and atheism is just a religon that says there is no God and theres no such thing as a spiritual world. If atheism was true that would be science.

DonDeCerveza In reply to Lord-Kothless [2011-08-05 12:32:09 +0000 UTC]

It is a dangerous path to approach science as a proof of the existence of god. The most devout men in the bible are those who were tested by god, even with evidence that god was against them, maintained their faith. Thus within Christianity, the most important thing is faith, blind faith. If you try to use science to prove the existence of God, then you are showing that you have a lack of faith, and are therefore unworthy of God. Read some of the passages on men who were tested by God and you will understand.

blackpantherindigo In reply to Lord-Kothless [2008-07-22 20:09:54 +0000 UTC]

Atheism isn't religion. It's just a philosophy. And a religion being true doesn't make it science.

It's true that neither side (theism, atheism) can be proven correct, because there's no evidence to support either. But some scientific theories, like evolution, have more evidence than intelligent design. But I guess that nobody will ever know anything for sure, it's not like we were there billions of years ago when the universe was born and the earth was formed and life sprung up.

The way I see it, when people (especially bible-belt conservative christians) get pissed when you disagree, it means they know you have a better chance of winning the debate and they feel threatened. It's like...they get mad so they don't need to explain themselves properly. It's hard to explain....

lol

Yes im against abortion, and im voting or Mccain but as for stem cell we can use stem cells can be removed from the individuals nose... and they actual work better then the ones from aborted infants.

blackpantherindigo In reply to Lord-Kothless [2008-07-23 23:22:57 +0000 UTC]

I would personally never get an abortion but I think that it's a woman's right to choose if she wants a baby growing inside her. Sometimes women are rape victims and need abortions, or they can't support a child.

I'm too young to vote right now but if I was 18 I would vote for Obama. And not because my parents support him, or because of how I was raised, but simply because I think he can do a better job of cleaning up Bush's crap than McCain.

Obama would ruin this country... He might be a muslim.
I dont like bush becous he's a stupid arogant ass, and he cozies up to arebs like crazy. HE CALLED THE SAUDIES OUR FRAINDS!!!
THEY HATE OUR GUTS!!!

blackpantherindigo In reply to Lord-Kothless [2008-07-24 00:42:41 +0000 UTC]

Obama's father was raised a Muslim but was non-practicing. His father left him when he was 2 years old, and his mother was Christian. He's a Christian. His preacher even made a fool of himself of tv! And what exactly is so bad about Muslims? They're not all terrorists, you know. There were Muslims at my school and they were normal kids.

I hate Bush too. It's because of him and his stupid taxes that we couldn't afford our house and had to move last year.

What do you think Obama would do to our country that would be bad? I'm actually curious to hear.

Seriously, if you see how much we're in debt (billions and billions of dollars) to other countries and how many people are losing their jobs and homes and this whole country is just a ticking time bomb. That's why I'm going to revoke my US citizenship after college, when I find the right country to live in.

I agree. Religious intolerance has cause almost every single war. Or, it at least had a major role in them. Very nice picture by the way.

I'm a Christian and I agree, but I think it's the people, not the religion. People of other religions do tend to be more tolerant from my experience. Christians should try acting like their name sake some time.

Iguanarwhal In reply to semaj-64 [2009-05-03 06:37:08 +0000 UTC]

I really don't think that's true at all. Now, I'll admit I don't know all the wars in history (who does?), but I'd say for Europe wars that were mostly caused by religion generally ended after the Thirty Years War and the Peace of Westphalia. We had a lot of Protestant vs. Catholic conflicts going on from approx. 1550-1650. I can't say I know much about other stuff, but this to me was the end of religion being THE key cause of conflict, as the church's role in the affairs of the continent shrunk. (I am a bit of history geek)

I find it odd that some would call religion the cause of all war (or something else to that effect). I feel like its a conclusion made without actually considering most wars (or at least the most well known ones, such as the World Wars or the Civil War). There are SO many wars throughout history with a huge variety of different causes. Yes, during some time periods religion was a great cause of conflict, but certainly not THE singular cause, or key contributing cause to all war. If you want to choose a catchall cause for every single war, the most specific you're going to come up with is "differences."

I definitely agree that the problem a lot of Christians have (myself included, at times) is that they're often too being making sure others are acting good to watch out for themselves.

cybernetichero In reply to semaj-64 [2008-07-27 11:34:40 +0000 UTC]

"Religious intolerance has cause almost every single war" I'm sorry but history does NOT support this claim. Almost all wars are caused by the desire on the part of one country to have the resources of another- greed. The last war to be fought in Europe over religious differences was the Thirty Years War, there have been at least 100 major wars since then and ALL fought over territory.

What i mean with this picture is that religion makes people to narrow minded. We get stuck in one train of thought. And that leads to a lot of suffering. But i also think that it is a necessary road for the human race to travel, and to evolve beyond religion. And to really be open to improv as humans and to eliminate hate, anger and suffering. What i mean with the adcast is that all religions leads to the same things. And we have to be careful not to be blinded by human imperfection that we put into our religious beliefs.

religion makes people to narrow minded

Narrow-minded is a pretty ironic choice of words, my friend. You're free to harbor this belief of your's, but your experience with religion seems to be wildly different from my own.

In addition to your statement, I would like to assert that Stalin abolished all religion, yet still 'cleansed' millions of his political opponents. In China, they developed a secular government ideologue. However, they are guilty of severe human rights violations against Tibet.

Religion isn't the problem. It's the flawed habits of human nature.

WarriorofHeaven In reply to AlexGroseth [2008-05-27 23:43:33 +0000 UTC]

Actually, religion enriches the mind. Although many questions will never be answered no matter what approach you have, it's traveling away from it that makes people ignorant. The way to eliminate hate, anger, and suffering is turning to God. Humans aren't perfect, so we can's solve it with going away from it- it would just extend that imperfection humans possess. God fills our lives and makes us perfect. I am in agreement that prejudice is ignorance, but religion isn't prejudice (well, maybe some are, but certainly not Christianity.)

ELStalky [2008-05-21 21:22:32 +0000 UTC]

I just saw your adcast with that title "prejudice is ignorance" and all those religious symbols at the bottom so i don't really get how that "get's along" with this picture, what exactly do you what to tell people with that adcast?(or is there room for misinterpretation in this picture?)
